Nvidia caught cheating again?

I debated whether to put this here or in the computing forum, but since the topic only affects gamers, here goes:

I don't see the problem. So what some of the MIP levels are different? Is that really going to translate into 2x or even 3x performance boost the GeForce 6800 is displaying over the nearest ATI card? Even the ATI card was rendering a different picture than what it should have been. I really don't see the problem.

The only game that has a problem is FarCry. The game still has the NV3x optimizations.

I don't get how the radeon is beating the geforce card so brutally in the benchmarks on the german site.

Realistically though, shouldn't the benchmark comparisons wait till ATI's new card hits the market? Granted, the geforce is an amazing card but it's also the latest installment which will obviously make it better by leaps and bounds in comparison to it's competition.

The Rage3D benchmarks are "speculation" on what the X800-880 series can/will do. Here is a more "realistic" idea of whats going on.

PS: I just sold my 9800 and will have the new ATi card asap.
