Okay so I decided to paint my Honda CIVIC 1500 3Door CD '79 that I'm preparing for the new seasonals (it was some horrendous orange color:yuck:). A friend had sent me a paint chip listed as Softblue that appeared to be a pale blue color that I thought would look okay on this car. In GT auto the small square next to the paints name still appeared to be pale blue but the paint drop looked sort of greyish. I decided to go ahead and use it anyways, and the paint spray showed a pale blue cloud. The finished car however turned out with a finished color very similar to the DeLoreans brushed steel finish.

Car looks cool so I'm not complaining, but wondering if anyone else has had this sort of thing happen?

By the way the game still insists the car is Softblue and shows a pale blue square that's nowhere close to the cars actual color.

Sorry unable to post pictures. Best I can do is share it. Just send me a message here and a friend request on PSN. Same username both places.

Does it change color based on lighting, like "Reflex Purple" does?

Nope. Just watched a replay of a lap on deep forest in the seasonal. Maintains the same sorta brushed steel gray throughout.

Yes the little square display on paint chip listing is often nothing like the actual colour. Also, when a colour is selected, why doesn't it list at least the original manufacturer, if not the model it is from?

If you go through your paint chips and "pre-select" them you'll see the colour come up on the awful 3D model.

You'll also see that many of the chips aren't at all representative of the final colour. I remember looking for a particular green to match someone's real-life car... I was shocked at how far off 'final' some of the chips were.
