I've been a smoker for 1 1/2 years now, and I've been curious of one thing.

Sometimes, if I have more then one cigarette in less than 1/2 and hour, after I finish it, I get nauseated, I start sweating, and feel like crap. I've been wondering for the longest time why I do this.

But I did find an answer. Last week in Canada, I bought a pack of smokes up there, and the companies are to put sometimes graphic labels issued by the Canadian Surgeon general. And it sad on a front of a pack that a certian chemical, Called hydrogen cyinide causes alot of the symptoms I just listed above. Does anyone have the same problem or the same expirence? Can anyone confirm this question?

And with that, Im off for the night.
-Adam.

lol......quit smoking.

cyanide is that poison crap...maybe some of those commercials are right after all

<_<

Been smoking for 7 years now and never had a similar excperiece caused only by the timespan between 2 smokes. I can excperience that when I am extremely hungry/hungover and smoke. Could it be that you're smoking very strong cigarettes and get too much nicotine into your system?

I used to get that way when I had just started smoking. When I'm at work now I smoke 3 during a 30 minute break, 3 during a 20 minute break, and 2 in a 10 minute break without feeling anything at all.

What do you smoke, and how many a day, by the way? I smoke a little over a pack a day. I used to smoke Camel Turkish Golds, but just recently switched over to Newports. Nasty habit.:(

I quit several times before quiting for good about 7 years ago. The last time I started to smoke again, it made me sick as hell, with the same symptoms you just described. Take this as a hint, and quit smoking. I don't think you've been smoking for long enough to realize it's not as fun as it used to be, but one day, you will feel that way.

Well, I did used to smoke Marlboro Reds when I first started, then I made the switch over to Turkish Golds. But I smoke a little over 1/2 a pack a day. How could you choose Newports?! :yuck: God, I hate menthol.

Hm, Well the responses I got were ok...Since the thread will be bumped, Itll get more attention.

That just about says it all. You're inhaling cyanide; a variant of that chemical which people use to kill themselves in minutes.

Quit smoking cigarettes while you have a chance, and you'll stop selling your body to a greedy, uncaring corporation for little or no pleasure whatsoever.

👍

Please try to stop smoking guys. Please. :nervous:

I'm in the process of finally quitting. Since I got my underage last Friday, I haven't had a cigarette since. I smoked about a pack a day for around 2 years. After the first day or two, it's really not that bad. I remember just sleeping constantly the first 2 days, which helped a lot.

Josh and Adam, you guys seem like you're in the exact same boat as me. We're all about the same age. I'm not being preachy or anything, but it's a lot easier to quit now than it will be to quit later.

Edit: The situation you describe happens to me when I smoke too much without having any food in my stomach.

This is coming from a non-smoker so I really dont know much, but could it have been caused by smoking a different kind of cigarette for example is there something in the canadian ones that american ones dont have, or vice-versa???

There is only one real solution to any problem relating to smoking and im sure you've heard it hundreds of times before......quit smoking

I quit smoking on 14 Oct. 2003 after 13 cigartefull years.

It was the best decision of my Life (sorry, the second - the first was to maried my wife)

Good on ya Kaneda 👍

Smoking stinks, it's expensive and it Kills! I too get nausea if I smoke a couple in quick succession even after years and years of smoking.

One day I hope I can kick the habit too.

I quit before I got addicted, I only smoked in school because a lot of the other lads did, but I don't see the point now, it's stupid I understand that people get addicted but I don't see why there are people that don't even try to quit and like Lotus said the cost is stupid some people spend £10 a day on them.

Leave him alone you! I bet his English is better than your German ;)
I know a bit of german, most of my family on both sides speak german, so i've picked up a bit, but still couldn't have a conversation in it.
But then again whats the point in learning another language other then the already universal language known as english

Per capita, Chinese dialects are more widely spoken than English. By land area, French rules the roost.

I believe Spansh is very widely spoken too up there with the most spoken on the planet.

Edid, Mandarin is by far the most spoken, Spanish is second and English is third according to this site thats from 1997 but it's probably still in the same order.http://www.krysstal.com/spoken.html

I thought Cantonese would be more widely spoken than Mandaring, i have ALOT of chinese friends (and a chinese girlfriend) and i don't know a single one who DOESN'T speak Cantonese. You learn something every day.

Back to the point, smoking too much too fast will make you sick, nicotine overdose. A friend of mine once smoked half a pouch of tobacco (thats ALOT) in a pipe in 10 minutes once, he was very very sick for 3 days.

If you try and smoke a few harsh ciggarettes in succession very quickly you WILL feel sick. I used ti smoke White-Ox tobacco rolled ciggerettes, for those of you who don't know what this stuff is, it's this realy dark tobacco that is incredibly harsh. Now i smoke Port Royal Rum and Wine which is much lighter and has heaps of flavour (im planning to quit). Quiting would be easier if i didn't enjoy smoking, but remember smoking doesn't just kill you, it will give you erecrtion problems!

Smoking is disgusting.
Its goin to take years off of your life and other people you smoke near.

Did I ask for a lesson? No. I wanted answers for actual people. Not the Surgeon General.

I am more than aware of the dangers of smoking, And It was something I dragged myself into and (Hopefully) Ill get out of it.

Sorry...... I hope u get yourself out of it.

The effects of passive smoking are overexaggerated. In open air it is soo miniscule that it is ludicrous. The times when you will realy be effected is when you work at a bar, pub or club and are in a badly ventilated area constantly, with many smokers around. A person who works at a pub for 40 years will be 60% more likely to develope smoking related diseases, though i always see people stating that 60% because of passive smoking statistic regardless of context.

I mean no matter how hard i tried i couldn't get any satisfaction from passive smoking unless i was in a car with the windows up (and even then after more than a few ciggerettes). The effects of pollution from cars is more damaging to the normal person.

Some people will preach to me how smoking kills me despite their weight problems, it is the peak of irony. I'm stupid because i am killing myself despite overeating taking over smoking as the top killer of Americans (and soon enough Australians).

No paper ever has satisfactorily proved an increase in prevalence of "smoking related diseases" due to "secondhand smoke".

A WHO report was thrown out by the US Supreme Court because it made up some numbers. Yet every anti-smoking organisation on Earth quotes this same report.

Oh, I'm a non-smoker.
