Odd situation...

Well I've just got myself stuck in an odd situation. I go upstairs to where my parents are, because I need a new proc, and I dont have the money ATM, but I'm sellin my 1.4 for $100 (the price of the new one) In my opinion it would be best if I got the new proc first so there isnt much downtime on my side. So I go up and talk to my dad about it and he said "It depends on your mothers mood when she gets home"
Well I stayed up there and talked about other things, like things i could buy if i took money out of my account, Like a GF4 Ti4400 being $270, and if I bought the proc it would be $370...
So I come down here to my living quarters untill my mom gets home, and I wait about an hour to know shes relaxed.
I go upstairs and talk to my dad (whose at the table) We start talking about the prices again (thats all he CAN talk about, he knows nothing about comps) and all of a sudden he asks really loud so my mom can hear it "WELL HOW MUCH DO YOU NEED" putting me on the spot right away, and I say "It Depends"
And hes "WELL HOW MUCH!"
"Well its eather $370 or $500" (if i wanted the Ti4600, its $500)
"WITCH ONE!!!!!"
"I'll take the $500" (wtf else am i gonna say)


So Now I think my parents think I'm crazy or something...
My dad really put me on the spot, and this is $500 from my bank acount that doesnt really have much in it (I think $800, now $300 or so)

I dont know what to do, take the $500 or take $370....
 
well i'll let other ppl talk to you about this b/c i'm dumb and have know idea what your talking about
 
Bank balances are never static things - what is your source of income, money from your folks? How quickly are you going to build it back up again? Do you need to have a lot of money in there?
 
Computer parts, Geforce 4 Titanium 4400/4600 and Processor as Proc.

My income is Holidays right now, but I'm gonna work over the summer I hope.

I'll build it back up while im working.

I have reallky no need to have money in there at all, it was just my Mom's idea of hiding money from me so I dont spend it
 
after viewing the specs I'd say the Ti4600 isn't worth the extra 130 or so just for gaming. I'm pretty sure that there won't be games out for quite some time to even utilize the Ti4400 fully... course, if your into auto cad, etc. I have no idea.

Or, maybe you want to be able to say you have the Ti4600 in which case you'd be buying pride :D I know that's how I go into every computer purchase!
 
Yes, Bragging rights and having the best PC outta everyone I know is playing a major part of this :)
 
Yeah it is. It's on Gamespot and a few other hardware sites. They are putting it out because another company is releasing a competing product, and Nvdia wants to maintain the top slot.
