Do you guys ever get days when it feels like your driving skills went down for no reason? Like today, I'm at least 1 second off all my times in all races and cars and for no reason, no distractions or anything. I just feel off... Frustrated at myself 🤪🤣

Every day?

I just feel hopeless at GT7. I do admit to liking it better after the 1.13 update - At least I feel to be in with half a chance of "catching" the rear!

A good friend of mine taught me that to get into the groove, you need at least 15 minutes warm up.

Are you "warming up" ?

Regards.

Ian.

One hundred percent. When I had the time to do competitive league racing on a regular basis, I felt like at least a quarter of my practice days were just 'off'. Could have been burnout from driving too much, could be the stress I was experiencing from university. Either way it's pretty normal to have those bad days at least from my own experience.

Nowadays I'm too busy with work and traveling to have the time to drive to that competitive level. That said the nature of my work has seen a similar pattern with having bad days either due to long hours, stress of competition, or just being away from home. Not limited to just video games.

Don't beat yourself up over it. Taking breaks to walk or perform other tasks for 30 minutes between sessions seemed to help me a lot to regroup and refocus on what I was trying to achieve.

Never thought of burnout but I guess you're right, averaging 400 miles a day for the last 2 weekdays after 9 hours of work can take a slight toll.

Also followed Ian's advice above and did a few laps just warming up and getting back into the groove now. But it still feels quite weird when it happens as it's like a shock to the system, like what the hell is wrong with me today? 🤣

Yeah, from day to day, depending on how tired I am, how much I haven't slept and so on, some days and lap times are good, some days not so good. I just say to myself, leave it for now and better luck some other day.
