There's isn't a complete list of confirmed cars yet, any list you see is fake. There is however cars that are obviously in the game from pics. Off the top of my head here's a few, but there is ALOT more that have already been confirmed.

Evo VII and VIII
'02 Civic Si
Trueno
Levin

Mental block... just check out some pics and see for yourself.

You'll find out by June of next year, I think.

Basically a bunch of Lancers, Skylines, everything in GT3, GTC, and some new cool cars. I think.

Game comes out in January.

So many places say january, some even say december, but more have said January.

I dont think it would be a good plan for the makers to have people think January and it not come out till June, that would piss a lot of people off.

All you guys that think Jan are going to be veeeeery dissapointed.

Your nuts no way its going to be in june when it comes out . Ive heard of it being pushed back but not from january to june. (dont take the nuts thing personly)

all i say is that if it was expected to be released in december or wutever one month being pushed back is niot that much of a diff so expect it to be pusehd back near june... the game must be "perfect¬

I highly doubt January, I mean they aren't gonna release the game until its perfect and with the problems they are having getting the online part working correctly its pretty fair to say it won't be out until early to mid 2004.

I really hope they have a couple of variations of M series, and a Z8 would be nice. Poor BMW is so under-represented in GT3.

I'll cross my fingers for January, but I won't get my hopes up. PD likes to finish things before they release them. I'll wait until mid '04 if GT4 will be as big as GT3 was when it came out, and from the rumors, I think it will be.

i dont mind when it comes out next year, because the longer they work on it the better and more refined it will be, plus it will last longer to tide us over to gt5 =)

Sligthtly off subject but I think as long as there are cars there will always be Gran Turismo games.

GT4 wont come out in june or what ever becouse the prologue version is coming out some time around christmas and if they bought them both out at pretty much ths same time they would lose so much mony they would go out of businus so there.

The prologue version of the game will probably hit store shelves sometime in late November, or early December. It should have at least 5 to 7 tracks, and maybe 100+ cars to make it a worthy purchase.

I see GT4 coming out in late April, or early May. It's just a guess. GT3 was suppose to hit the stores in mid February, and it didn't come out until mid June, and the the game didn't have all the bugs worked out. So maybe a five month delay seems appropriate.

I understand where everyone is coming from, regarding GT4's possible delay. I think, however, that these pessimistic views are unfounded. True, GT3 was delayed by a few months. What people seem to forget though, is that it was originally scheduled to be a launch title (remember GT2000?). Once they decided to make the game more substantial, any target release date thereafter was suspect (as they probably had no real idea how long it was going to take.)

Also keep in mind that GT3 was PD's first attempt at programming for the, then, new PS2. They have, no doubt, much more experience with the platform now, and should have no difficulties programming for it now (they have been working on GT4 since early 2001).

Finally, don't forget that many of the tracks and cars were already programmed (from GT3) and only need to be redone for GT4, as opposed to starting from scratch.

Given these facts (plus the fact that PD already had to deal with irrate fans due to the GT3 fiasco), I would say that January is quite likely as a release date. I wouldn't be surprised if it was delayed to February, but any later seems unlikely to me.

Yes but we don't want an update to GT3, we want a game that has better graphics, better handling and all that. The main reason why I doubt Januarary is because PD are having problems implementing the online aspect because of the PS2's sub-par network adapters performance and you know how much of a perfectionist Kazunori is and so he won't release until he is totally satisfied with the end result.

Plus, from what I have heard, GT4 was started from scratch, everything is brand new. Both the cars, and tracks. The tracks look more like their real life counterparts, and the cars have more detail.

Plus, PD made GT2000 as a PS2 version of GT2, but they discovered the power of the PS2, and decided to scratch the GT2000 project, and since the new project wasn't going to be released in 2000, they changed the name to GT3. I heard PD were half way done with GT2000 when they decided to change, and that is why GT3 was full of mistakes and bugs. It was rushed. This is probably why Yamauchi is taking his own sweet time, he wants everything to be perfect this time around.

i got to go with godzilla on this one. The prologue version is comfirmed and only makes sense if there are ate least a few months between dthis release and the def-game....

i don't expect it (the def-game) before june....

bummer

Sony and Kaz have already declared it will be delayed, far beyond its Xmas 2003 launch proviso, and is having to launch the prologue edition, to keep matters with certain interested parties out of litigation.

If the game was nearly ready im sure we wouldnt even be getting a sniff a prologue edition.

The negotiation of the prologue release, has however freed up PD, to work on many, many other aspects of the game (while they also try and work out the online content problems), much more so than if it had been rushed out this Xmas.

Kaz himself says he wants GT4 to be a whole new way to experience gaming, and not merely be just the next step on from GT3, all existing tracks and cars have, had to be completely redone with the new method/technology PD are using this time to keep them in line with all the new stuff coming.

But I still think Summer 04 before we see the final result.

As kaz said, it will be out when its ready!

your summer not mine:D

For the planned release of Gran Turismo 4 in February 2004...obviously, there has been a lot of conflicting information...I'm not counting my chickens....so my best suggestion is to just chill the hell out and let's continue to foam at the mouth until the darn thing DOES come out...

who cares when it comes out as long as it is worth the wait and i believe it will be, so gran turismo 4 will get here when it gets here.

it's speculation and you all are more or less right. So, if in the December there will be a Prologue version it's kinda unreasonable to expect full GT4 in January. The SCE and PD would have way too much expenses with distribution of the game.
However I'm expecting the game in Jan Feb, but I also think the game will be released in late April or May. Of course we in Europe will get the game at least 2-3 month later (like allways) :irked: :banghead:

I have heard just about every month mentioned from now untill june next year, I'll just grab when it comes out

You may have a whinge about being inEurope and having to wait longer for games to come out, but down here we are the bottom of the food chain:mad:
