first is the GT-R Record challenge, 1 lap on sports hards in the stock GT-R, second is a lap with the F2007, both of which were pretty sketchy but also fairly quick.

Wtf, the tires of the gt-r were screaming like hell, so he was sliding, and all that does is:
A) kill your tires
B) kill your laptimes

the massive tire smoke was from understeer as you can see there's very little loss in traction and the car is still moving forward not sideways, that seems to be a side effect of pushing the tires to their grip limit

speaking of tire smoke:

this lap was crazy, the car wanted to lift off on every elevation change, i even lost control at around 4:35 but managed to correct it without disqualifying the lap time, also here's a lap in the 458 Italia

I managed a 7:24, how in the world did you a 7:11? Wow.

EDIT. Did you change like the suspension or gear ratios? 'Cause your GT-R looks more stable somehow...or you're simply a much better driver...

Maybe ABS=10 , normal Grip and Active Steering set too Strong.
I´d like to see the Driving options too.

I've often noticed that extremely skilled players (like Struppi above) makes it look too easy. Their driving lines are nearly perfect and smooth, driving looks very easy. Like my friend once said, it's like ballet dancing. Less skilled players (like myself, 7'18.5xx) are usually trying too hard, making tiny mistakes every now and then, and that reduces our lap times a lot, especially at longer tracks like Nürburgring.


So clap your hands, that lap is wild! 👍

Oh there we have it! You said you changed nothing, so this "skidding on wet surface, curbs, etc." was on "weak" and not on "realistic" I suppose, as it has been set in my case, gonna try it with the "weak" option and look if I can indeed break through the 7:20.

Seriously, that would perfectly explain why the car looked so damned planted, when you were driving over the curbs and gras.

But of course, I can be mistaken, so please take no offence but I simply can not contemplate how you did a 7:11.

Struppi is one of the worlds fastest GT players. He had a lot of P1s in GT5 Prologue.
"100% stock" means Arcade Mode and no quicksettings like you can use with the DFGT.

Yeah I know but there is this option, you actually have to change in the pre-race-option-menu, so that it gets more difficult=thus, this would not be stock options.

And by the way, by now he confirmed to me he drove with the "realistic grip loss" option, so he is simply insane, insanely fast. 👍

Excellent videos everyone!!

I'll give this a good go sometime next week and upload a video. I think a good few hours (4 or 5) on the ring somebody out there can pull a 7:10. Hopefully I can give it a good shot but if Dan and Struppi can only get a 7:11 will be really really tough challenge for anybody!

Clean? Mhm... clean is imho always with all tyres on Track.

But a 07:11 cant be done 100% clean.

And GT voted my lap as valid - so i do too.

GT might've seen your lap as being valid but it doesn't take much to see that you've gone off course many times. One of the stipulation for valid lap in TT in real life and even on GTP is that when you're taking a corner or a chicane, you need to have the two inside tires on the track (inside the curb) or at least try to keep contact with the track. What I"ve seen in the video is a blatant short-cutting- when all four wheels are off the track. Even if it's 99.9% clean and that 0.1% accounts for the time you've left the track, the 7:11 is still not valid.

Ran a clean 7'10.238 yesterday using same settings as Struppi except active steering strong.

What's the setup on your R34? that's a really fast lap.

^ i have it tuned for drag now so not too sure, it was from here on GTP though, try the GT Tuning Wiki, it's the highest rated tune i believe, also here's another GT-R on the Nur video i made, simulating the specs of the 2012 GT-R:

I searched everywhere for the R34 tune and couldn't find it, the fastest I manage on the nurb is 6:52 with a fully tuned r34.
