Official GTA Vice City Stories Thread

Seeing as there isnt a thread for it yet I thought I would create one. Im suprised there hasnt been one yet seeing as there has been loads of info out about it.

So far what we know is that its set 2 year before the original Vice City. A time before wealth, big money and the yuppie was invented, basically the city looks abit more worn and downtrodden. There are alot more rough areas and less high rises and the tone is quite different.

The main character is going to be Victor Vance, the brother of Lance Vance who features in the original Vice City as Tommi's sidekick! He is ex millitary and has (suprise suprise) got into a bit of trouble...

All the usuals feature, the Bikes, choppers etc... but there will be new models, I also read that there are NEW areas to explore out and about on the bay...... hmm sounds interesting. It is twice the size of the LCS map.

The missons have had an overhaul since LCS, now they are more interesting, longer and have more of an epic story style to them...so hopefully more of the shooting from the chopper, protecting the ship and racing the speedboat type missions!!! there are also less cut scenes during missions that filled gaps in LCS.

There will be even more 80's music to blast out of your car radio than the first VC....... great! loved the music in that game!

Finally, the game is set to release around November but it has yet to be confirmed.....

I really hope this will follow LCS and come out on PS2 because it has proved to sell bucket loads at its reduced price and lower graphics... I cant wait as I dont have a PSP.

I read an new interview about the game and they have done some great work with the psp cpu and gpu, using it like no one else has allowing them to display twice the polygons and having a veiw distance better than the VC for PS2. They've freed up the cpu allowing it to run more tasks and lossless animation enabling it to have the same fluid animations from the ps2 VS. This lets them improve the physics via raw power rather than cleaver coding.They also use a new radiosity lighting engine. The whole game engine is new.

But 2x the number of polygons could be a sign of them using the 333mhz mode which gives it a whooping 50% performance increase over what was used in LC Stories, That also boosts the system bandwith and thats very importaint.

I dont know now I'll have to see a little more but this is adding up to be one of the greatest PSP game ever made. The graphics are incredible and looks much better than LC Stories.

I was wondering that when they were talking how graphically better and capable this would be compared to the PS2, but I mean GTA LCS was running at 222mhz and it still managed to suck battery life down pretty good, I can't imagine what VCS would do.
 
I loved Vice City, that was video game perfection. How could Rockstar improve on it? Never played LCS on PS2, but I have played it on PSP and it was OK but got boring rather quickly.

I agree, Vice City was by far the best..... I was playing it the other day! So glad theres this remake... but I dont have a PSP only PS2..... I have played LCS on PS2 and its not that bad..... its easier to control with the DS plus the graphics are slightly higher and there are more people and cars around..... as long as its a new series of missions to play ill buy any GTA!

Ill be waiting for LCS for PS2.....should be graphically equal to the original if they have up-ed the PSP's cpu usage...

I seem to have gotten rather addicted to it again lately.

It better be good, because I really got bored of GTA LCS.. I only played till 7% and let it go up in dust..
 
has anyone got their hands on this game yet? EB games website says it releases today in the states...

I'll have to wait till tommarow to get my pre-ordered copy:grumpy:
 
Yeah once someone gets it let us know what its like, although we kinda know what GTA's are like now, but is the acting good, are the missions interesting and like are the graphics good.

I dont have a PSP but im waiting for the PS2 version.....

Oh and it the lastest trailer of it Phil Collins is in the game! and like you do missions for him and see him in consert I think lol! and he is as he looked in 1984! hahahaha I think thats the first licenced person or thing for that matter in GTA showing that the series is becoming very influencial, I wouldnt be suprised if you start getting real shops or real cars in game, and maybe loads more celebrities or actors will be in there as themselves.....

Jaw hits the floor......... :sick: ..... Did they say why? I bet you anything if it sells massively then they will put it on ps2..... They never intended to put LCS on ps2 and they did that!
 
this game is CRAZY. Just got it at like 6:30. And WOW. The way the city looks is good. The graphics are nice:tup:

Let us know how good it is compared to LCS (I got bored of it quickly), I am seriously considering buying this if it is a good improvement over LCS.
 
Im finding VCS alot better than LCS. Just better all-around. The only thing bad is that it's really easy to drive faster than the scenery can load (alot worse than LCS). It gets really annoying to be driving full speed and hit a bench or something that hasent loaded.
 
Thats the same thing that happends in SA for PS2.

The lighting rivals ps2 quality. I'll rent it his weekend.
 
well after everything ive been seeing about this game its a no brainer once i can afford it, its better than VC from the looks, i havent been back to that city in a while so it will be nice. one things for sure, this has gotten my appetite up and ive been playing a lot of lcs lately at work:dunce:
 
Anyone passed the Lance mission to destroy the police antennas? How did you do it, cause I'm having trouble.
 
im stuck on that same mission!:nervous:

By the time I destroy the 2nd attenna theres so much heat on me. And my car usually blows up and I fail the mission:(
 
I used a helicopter to go from police station to police station. After all the antennas are gone I flew over the water to the pay and spray neer the top of the main island. Landed my copter in the parking lot of the hotel just across the street (south) of the pay and spray. Got on the bike that is sitting there and rode across the street to the pay and spray. I must have tried 10 diffren't ways, and that was the one that did it for me.
 
I tried that Lino and when i got to the last one and destroyed it I was getting into my chopper and a copper from the police chopper busts me. lol Would be easier with the Hunter. Anyone found that yet?

EDIT: done it with the chopper. Good news is if you know where there are wanted stars to lower your wanted level then you can just hover onto them and dont have to get out of the chopper.

EDIT2: Now completed stories.
 
i just got the game myself, i love how they finally made cool wheels for the cars:tup: ... i love it i also loved lcs because it was bigger

Cool wheels yeah, but the ones on the Hummer SUCK! Too small. lol
 
I got the game a few days ago. It was on sale for $30, I havent played it much as i have to use the umd swap trick to play it. req 2.81 to play.
