Official Real pick up trucks thread

I'm not sure what the fascination is with driving through mud. I tried watching it on that show 'Trucks' on SpikeTV, but I just couldn't get into it. I'd much rather have a prerunner style truck.

Horizon you just broke a rule yourself. It says "no trucks that you would be afraid to leave in a mall parking lot" or somehting like that. The dodge ram SRT-10 is pretty much the 3rd most expensive truck on the US market, next only to the Hummer H2 SUT and H1 truck thingy. Dude, it's badass, but just too damn expensive. Plus it's a Dodge so I automatically condemn it. :D

That is a nice-looking truck. Would be even better without the flames though.

Anyway, here's a nice truck I saw in the local Auto Shopper and at RacingJunk that's going for $3400 obo. I want it really bad, but my parents would never buy it for/with me. (with meaning I pay for at least half). Here's the pictures:

Where in the heck did you ever even hear about that last truck? that things rocking@

What.....was the purpouse of this tree killing, ozone melting, pollouting machine? Seems like an extremely stupid idea, IMO.

Jon's F-150 is nice. I don't have a picture with me but believe me, it's more then two inches off the ground.:D

Umm.... look at the obscene waste of fuel in your avatar. Not to mention the roads they had to lay down for that drift course, that was probably in a wooded area. The only difference here, is that a drift car wastes more tires and that nature can actually rebuild itself from a truck driving through it, a drift course would take centuries to undo.

Point taken. 👍

Hmm...I'd still lean towards the truck as a bigger waste. I mean, is that thing even street legal? That, and if someone were to steal it they would be like unstoppable. and who would need a truck that huge?? From the looks of it, you wouldn't even be tall enough to put anything on the tailgate anyway! At least with a drift car you can go to work. And, it's fun. What could you possibly do thats fun in that behemoth? Be high off the ground?

Yet, another point taken.

It is street legal, and it even qualifies for the basic driver's license, not a CDL! (Which I think is wrong, but I can't do anything about it)
International says it is for commercial businesses, roofers, landscapers, contractors, brick or stone contractors, and people in motorsport. It is the ultimate pickup and can haul anything you can hook up to it. Plus it has outstanding fuel economy for a truck its size, with the use of an electronically controlled International diesel engine.
AND IT'S A 4X4! So it can be used at C.O.R.R., S.C.O.R.E., Baja, or Dakar races as a tow/repair truck and can go along the course as needed.

It's not made to be a "daily driver", but a work vehicle.

And here's another "big rig" pickup:

Ford F-650 Pickup (Custom 4x4)

I've heard about the F-650 a while ago, but which is bigger the International or the Ford. Either way the Ford is much more appealing to the eye.

Are you serious? How is being not street legal a waste? Also, if that truck were stolen, all you need to do is let the air out of the tires (one way or another), and look, the thing would be imobile. Now, try taking a Honda Civic through a river crossing, I don't think it will bode well. Why would you ever need to put anything more than replacement parts and tools in a bed of a pickup of this size? Drift cars are almost all street illegal, due to their excessive sound output and body modifications. Oh, so now drifting on local streets is legal?! Parking would be a sinch, no need for lines, if the highway is packed, take a side-road, pick your choice, their just as fun and twice as mobile.

I think it's the offroad tyres that does it, but that F-650 looks so much better and more sensible than the International. Maybe it's the fact that the F-650 looks like it could climb the side of a house that gives it some purpose, lol.
