On any track that has a pit lane, the AI will be out on track putting down lap times just like you, but to have a varying degree of skill. Have some that looks like its their first day(driving a low pp car) and have a varying amount of highly skilled drivers(modified cars, higher pp/different class). With tire wear and fuel consumption. Everyone isn't going to be driving the same class car, just everyone will be driving. There could be a spectate mode where you can watch other drivers lap around. After a while, the track can get shut down for a break, after the break some of the drivers will leave and new ones will appear for the new session
