I'm a 15 year old carnut from Norway, as some of you might know, by now. I've been here for the past 6 months, and I must say, I really love these forums. Why?

The mods

They can be very bad. What do users often think of mods? The usual nazi-Hitler-mods, that close/delete posts without reasons, ban people because the people ask questions about the mods, etc.
Yes, nobody will force you to be on a forum. But, it takes an awful lot of time to make a new forum, get the members in, get the trust, etc. You can say mods can be dictators. Like if GTPlanet is the biggest Gran Turismo community, the mods have got trust, and the people follows them. The mods could do nazi moves, indeed. Do they here? No. They are friendly, they know what they're talking about and they show interest for the forums.

The users

Flaming. Spamming. In some forums, this very post would get flamed by people calling it spamming. I doubt it will happen here, though. The members on these forums are helpful, tolerant and nice. They comment on good posts and on bad posts. And most importantly, they give constructive criticism, which is very important for each and every one of us. The best way to see that are the galleries. Quality pictures, quality posts (by the way, that reminds me of that smart "Quality Posts" system you've got), skills to kill!
To sum up the users in one word: Incredible!

I'm on a few different forums, also mod on one, and this is probably the best forum I'm a user on (not a mod)! The very best!
With this post, I would just like to say, thank you to the mods/admins, and thank you to the users - for making the best forum I've seen so far! I was feared I would get flamed the first times I posted here, but I haven't seen a flame so far!

Btw; Some could maybe use the search function a bit more, but show me the forum with 88200 users that is perfect. The bigger, the more difficult to keep control. But, it's an incredibly clear layout here, with good sorted out sub-forums and forums.

Cheers!! You deserve it! 👍

Thanks for the feedback, eiriksmil 👍 You raise a good point... no internet forum is perfect, but some are better than others, and I've always found that the benefits of GTPlanet far outweight the drawbacks... :) There are many places on the web that a car nut like yourself can call home, luckily GTP is one of the best ones...

Must. Resist.

Nah you're totally right, and it's nice to hear it said 👍

Spammer ;):p.
Edit: couldn't resist..... Obviously.

That's a thoughtful post and I'm pretty sure it sums up how most of the regular users feel about the site, it's certainly one of the cleanest and most pleasent forums I've been on in regards to language and insults and abuse being hurled around. Actually did I just say one of, it IS the cleanest and most pleasent forum I've ever logged onto 👍.

Thanks so much for the very kind words, eriksmil! It's always great to hear that people are enjoying the site. :)

I'm glad to hear that we're doing our jobs and keeping the forum clean, friendly, and usable to as many people as possible. That may mean we have to get tough on people from time to time, but it is always with a vision in mind of how good the forum could be.

Thanks for the kind words, eiriksmil.

^What he said^ :D

Well, and not to mention the mods do let us have our fun with the oddities and strange folks who come in from nowhere, and then get rid of them before they become a big issue.

Now I wouldn't say it's the cleanest, but it certainly tops the Quality areas because it has areas for everyone. The only other sites that can be said to be cleaner are sites dedicated to Full Sims. Due to this like GTR and Flight Sim, the maturity is higher because the players know what they're doing.

But as said, you have to have a good interest in them to stay with them for as long as some of us have here. They don't have a section for everyone.

Indeed, I love the maturity and professionalism of the forums.

But with people like Famine and DQuan, it can always be a hoot while still keeping it clean enough :)

Agreed. That's what I think, written out and posted in a way I can't (i.e. coherently and clearly).

Glad to hear your enjoying it!

You forgot daan and TM, and now they'll be unhappy... :sly:

I totally love these forums too. Even if they keep taking away our fun spam threads. ;)

I think we need a GTPConversation.net just so we can have our old days of fun back!

I've met so many cool people on here and I'm sure most members have too. Good to see that we've all made such a good impression on you. :)

Thanks for the thanks, eiriksmil, and all others. :) It’s just our way of returning to the community after it’s given so much to us.

This is one of the few types of threads that can be repeated endlessly without any requests for searching... ;)

Ive been here quite a while and I love it, I dont really ever properly post consistantly on any other forum site... It because this site is so friendly, well managed and covers all sorts of stuff not only GT.... People here are very intelligent and informative... its just great to have a chat and discuss... Pity I wont be able to be here that much in the next month or so because Im on holiday...:sly:

I agree with Robin, this is the most frequently visited forum in my part, and I enjoy every moment of it. That's why I come at least once everyday and spend at least 2 hours here.

Eirik,

Thanks for noticing! I do agree, the whole community needs a round of applause for their contributions to this site!

Thanks for being a part of it.

In every thread like this that pops-up, I agree with everyone. This is such a good community that has been worked very hard to get it to where it is!
