Well I just noticed somthing else after looking at my specs.. There was a thread not too long ago that said your HP increased slightly with oil changes. Well, I tried it and foudn that to be correct. What I just noticed tho, after driving a roadster enduro, was that not only did my HP go up with the oil change, but it went up after the race, before I went to change my oil again! So I bought an LS, it had 157hp or somthing, changed the oil, 163hp, ran the race, 168hp AND it changed my peak HP point. I consistently shifted her at exactly 8k rpm, every shift for the whole 40 laps. Well, now my peak power, 168hp, is at the 8k mark. Wierd stuff.. Anybody ever run the crap out of a car and never changed the oil, I mean never. That would be sweet if the engines would start smoking. (I doubt it, but it would be cool) I can never make myself not change the oil,and that would take alot of miles I'm sure, so I'd have to be doing it with a car that I think is fun to drive. (another reason why I haven't ever gotten to experiment with it) Ok,well just figured I'd share that tidbit and see if anybody else noticed it as well.
peace,

well, im not to sure about HP increasing with oil "changes". but i do know for sure that when you buy a new car, and you change the oil before driveing it, you get an HP boost. and then when you actually drive the car, you get more HP, i assume this is cause the engine is breaking in and therefore running smoother. if you dont change the oil after a while, you will loose HP, but change the oil and it should be back to wut you had before.

err, this applies to any new car. bought or won.

Yeah, that's pretty cool how that works. Just now noticing it I guess ;) I noticed long ago that right after you bought a car, the hp would drop from factory and it always confused me. I guess it's cause you gotta go get it new oil and break it in and whatnot. cool stuff. I'm hungry! :cheeburga

You're talking of the run-in period. After about 80-100km (40-60miles) the engine's run-in properly and the HP goes up a bit. Change the oil after the run-in period for even more horsies!!

But then after 500km the horsies start to drop...hehehe

I changed my oil in my Polyphony 002 before the F1 championship and after race 6 the oil needs changing. My hp has dropped totally and the car is super slow. I wish you could change the oil in a pit stop or aftereach race in a championship.

I'm with YOU on that too. Why in the heck can't you change your oil between those long races. Heck, you oughta be able to get it changed when you pit for tires. Hot oil drains quick..

It's a friggin F1 car. It should have super high grade, not available on the public market oil that would last for 100,000kms in a normal passenger car.

I can see it now, Shumee comes into the pits after 6 laps for one of Ferrari's increadible pit stops. 3m45s later he blats from the pits ready for a whole other 6 laps until his oil burns itself to pieces.
