im running the polyphony cup with the R390 road car and midway through the 3rd race the oil light came on.(i started w/o changing it  ) is it going to affect my car alot or am i still gonna have no problem winning?(at least a lap ahead of the 2nd place car) is there anyway of changing the oil without losing my place in the championship?

Nope. It happens. You should have changed at the beginning, but you knew that...

You just have to live with it. Most, but not all, of your HP will come back when you change your oil at the end of the series.

i have yet to notice dissapearing horse power, everytime i change the oil after it comes on even after racing with the oil light on for a while i get all my hp back.

Ditto what Duke said. having used the R390 in teh PD cup before, the only way you could lose is with exceptionally poor driving skills.

I found it incredibly easy to clear that series in that car.

When you won the car it had good HP, if you had changed teh oil before racing, it would have gone up considerably. Over time you will wear off some of that HP, but not enough to make a difference.

Good luck

You can notice a drop in Power in Series Races due to that daunting oil light :fdevil:..... But if your car :gcar: is fully tuned you'll still have a major advantage over other racers.... :rotfl:

Oh, jeezes khrist... why are you worrying? The PD cup is so easy with high-powered cars it's not even funny... are you honestly worried about losing in a 500hp monster when the other cars have around 250hp?

Let me restate that... "But if your car is fully tuned, you won't be able to enter a race that only untuned cars can enter." :D

the r390 road car doesnt have 500hp its has somewhere around 3-- plus thats WITHOUT the oilchange and minus the oil light going on which takes away about 10hp... and some of the cars there are actually 320hp, but you should still win EASILY

If your oil light came on in the third race, then your oil was relatively fresh. Even if you changed the oil before beginning this series, the light would have still come on in the third race, period. No way around that fact. All you need is 189 miles after an oil change, and viola, the oil light comes on. End of story.

You may notice a slight change in power, but not enough to hurt you in the races. Good luck on finishing!!

Like the others said, don't worry about the oil light. I'm doing the PD cup at the moment, though I did change my oil before the start. Your HP will drop through out the series, but not enough to make much difference. And in answer to your question, no, you can't change the oil without losing your place in the championship. It's a shame, and something that I think should have been included, but like I said, with a decent car the loss in HP over the series shouldn't make much difference.

Too add a small note, there is no way to change your oil in the middle of a series race.

Recently I have been tracking the mileage and power in my races recently and noticed that between 129-134 miles the power starts to drop. I was at 621 before the start of the race (129miles) and at the finish (134 miles) I was at 616.

AGREE...i could win with a rx7

is there a possibility to "repair" my motor after it lost hp?
my impreza lm-edition lost more than 50 hp (it was my first endurancecar and i loved it)

thanks so far

No, once your car starts losing HP there is no way that I know of, of getting it back ... this usually starts happening after like 1000 miles or somethin in that region ?

Only way is to buy a new one dude

I was wondering are you sure. It said somewhere that you can sort of rebuild your ebgine and get the power back. Like you take off all the mods you have done to it and then put them on again. I was just wondering if anyone had tried this?
