So I bought a PC...life was good and I was waiting for some cables and whatnot. But when I go to test it, the pc has an orange light and it wont power on.. worst of all.....

the warranty sticker was damaged when i got it :ouch: And i want to take it back. Absolute bobbins.

Its a dell optiplex gx260.

Should I ring up, will they be understanding about the situation? Or am I seriously out of pocket :nervous:

Ring up and tell them the problem. They can't see the sticker over the phone! I take it it is still under warranty?

Did you buy it online or from a store? It shouldn't really matter as you'll have proof of purchase from either - receipt, credit card statement, delivery note, etc. If it's never worked then they can't argue and will just do a direct swap. It's no skin off their nose as they'll just send it back to the manufacturer or supplier.

The sticker doesn't really matter cause you could have opened the computer to clean the dust out for maintenance.

You should be fine. Most dells have the "Service Tag" number printer somewhere else on the case. Looking at a couple of Precision 380s right now, and the Service Tag number is on top and the back of the case.
