I have one of these in my area, and I was wondering which I should go for:

This one is $325. and this is the ad:

Atari Pole Position game that has been retrofitted with an original X-Box,tv monitor and stereo system.

or, I could go for this:

which is just a bit more expensive after shipping.

..Or I could save up for another month or so and get a Playseats Evolution.

I'd be using the cabinet for GT5 with a G27. I have the OK from the wife for the PP cabinet, but it'd take a bit of work to get my seat in there, and then I'd need to make a shifter mount and mount the pedals in there.

So I just want to know what you guys with experience with modding this kind of stuff think. I don't have a bunch of free time or money, or anything, I work two jobs, and my wife told me that I'd need to sell it before we move, so it'd only be for a few years, as opposed to the APIGA which only weighs about 40 lbs and can be taken with us when we move.

Is it worth it, or too much hassle?

Thanks.

Imo I would go with the Apiga since you are moving. The pole position cockpit would be a lot of work to get it looking like you probably want it. Their is also no guarantee you could sell it when you have to move. If you weren't moving and had time to finish it and make it cool it would be awesome. But you sound like a busy man so i think the Apiga would be best. Imho

Oh the things I could do with the Atari Pole Position cabinet! Tactile Transducers, surround sound, you name it. The only problem with the cabinet is you won't be moving it around once setup. The second thing is after a bit of driving you will be tired as there is no way to adjust the seat, pedals, or shifter positions as there is with any other aftermarket cockpit.

Oh wow, I didn't even think about the limited adjustment area of it, jswilli1. Great point.

We plan on staying at the place we're at now for at least the next couple years, but I think by the time I got finished with it it'd be pretty hard to part with, and too hard to move.

Thanks guys, that's exactly the kind of responses I was hoping for.

If anyone's interested in it, it's in Clearwater FL's Craigslist here: http://tampa.craigslist.org/pnl/vgm/2316794992.html.
