Old gen support coming to an end?

There was an announcement regarding the next gen Lamborghini Super Trofeo. At the end of the press release there was this little nugget:

If true this kinda sucks for people that still have the older consoles, even when you put the money aside the NextGen consoles aren't easy to get a hold of. The NextGen version of ACC is definitely going to make things messy for communities.

Yeah, not sure what's gonna happen with free private lobbies, Vs paid Gportal ones etc

Given that a different dev is making the next gen port it seems at the very least very possible that this is it for last gen ACC in terms of updates and support.

This might also be part of the reason why they removed the seasonpass.
