Good Evening,

I have not truly played Gran Turismo since 3rd edition on PS2. I only played for simple racing but nothing to the more detailed aspect of tuning and any other accessories for a car.

That was until Gran Turismo 5 came out and after seeing it's gameplay and detailed features, I felt that click to want to play competitively.

But where and how do I start? I do not believe I will have an issue learning simple races besides knowing how to adjust my car. Drifting is another story. I am a complete novice to knowing anywhere near how to drift in the game let alone tune the car for one.

Any starter tips will greatly be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

High front camber, around 4.0 generally makes the car a little easier to drift as the front tires dont have as much grip so the tendency to spin out is alleviated a little. As you progress youll find that the high camber prevents you from maintaining steep angles, and some high speed drifts. Stiffening the springs also make it easier as this prevents weight shift which can translate to spins. Buy a Honda S2000, great learning car.

My basic drift tune is just massive power and rear wheel drive. Stick as much balast in the boot as you can. Slam the front and raise the back. Also gear for max top speed, that way you reduce the need to shift mid corner and regain max grip or lose your slide, plus it makes manual easier :p
I use a maxxed slr mclaren and just practiced a fair bit til i got reasonable. Maybe try working out a set up on a 4wd car? I dont approve of using them but they are easy to drift (nissan gtr is great)

Thank you all for you responses thus far.

I'll be routinely updating progress over time with success and failures.

Now if you'll excuse me i'll be spinning around in circles with my Honda Civic
