Old school drivers helmets and goggles etc have already been suggested and I think are a must to go with the growing list of classic cars in the game.

While racing today in my 1959 Corvette I did a pitstop and realised just how inappropriate the pit crew clothing was - they didn't use lollipop men and certainly didn't wear helmets - so my suggestion is replace the lollipop man with a mechanic with a flag or even a rag. When coming into the pits, one pit crew would hold an oil can while another would wipe the windscreen. They could wear white t shirts and jeans or overalls - preferably oily. The team manager could stand near the cockpit wearing a trilby hat and sports jacket with leather patches on the elbows.

To get this option to work the game could either base it on the age of the newest car on the grid e.g. 1965 or the host could set the option.
