There was a game back around 1988 on the NES which was a pretty fun beat-em-up. Around this time, Double Dragon was one of the hottest beat-em-up games in its day. Years later, games such as the Streets of Rage series, the Final Fight series, and many pretenders had their share of games. River City Ransom was among some of the games in the classic beat-em-up genre of gaming. Some think this is a dying genre nowadays, but the classics still remain. Is this one of them?

INTRODUCTION: In this game, you play as high school rivals Alex and Ryan. These two rivals are out to save their girlfriend Cindy who has been kidnapped by Slick of River City High School. All the while, you will fight against a band of p*ssed off high school guys and deadly henchmen who daresay intercept your attempt to save your girlfriend. All the while, you're picking up things, use them as weapons, and beat the crap out of anyone else who want to get in your way. You also buy food and all other sorts of items to make the adventure a little easier for you. Keywords- a little.

PROS: beating up people in this game can be fun; cool music; can be pretty funny

CONS: gameplay can be slow with two-player action; some pretty tough fights

FINAL VERDICT: It's a shame there wasn't any possible sequels except for that one-off Game Boy Advance variation of this game. The fact that this is a pretty fun game to play that may not be on the level of Double Dragon, this game is really fun to play. (Final: 9.00/10.00)

I reccomend this game also.

There was a japan-only sequel for the super nintendo, i have it on zsnes 👍

I must say, its alot harder then the first one.
