Actually it's red - white - blue. Orange however is the most special color to the Netherlands. Can't explain why.

Yeah, above is right. We have a day called queens day when everything is orange. It is indeed connected to our Royal Families and because of that our teams are mostly orange. (soccer, hockey, tour de France etc.)
