LOON was sending me something via mail, I was waiting for like a week or so. When it finally came I was like... :D But I noticed a small tear on both sides, and the envelope was empty. WTF!!! They stole it! That thing costs money! GRRR!!!! Is there anything I can do about it? :grumpy: Has this happened to anyone?

Yes. Bring it to the post office and complain.

Let me guess: Someone put a thick, non-crushable item in a thin, non-padded envelope.

Do you think the USPS just mails anything you shove in a one-cent envelope these days?

People don't realize the machines the USPS uses. It shoots letters like a bullet. Anything not a letter inside gets shot out the envelope like a bullet. Or, the item gets crushed and pinched and stays in place as the letter shots forward.

Whatever was inside your envelope made into the trash can at the first post office it made it to.

It didn't get crushed. When I sent it out I got it back about a day later explaining to me that it couldn't be processed with the other mail and that I needed to put extra postage on it, so I did and sent it back out.

Oh, and I didn't just stick another stamp on the envelope with out opening it. I put everything in the envelope into a new one, everything was fine.

wow, am I glad I've seen this thread... I cannot begin to explain how useful and interesting it is

GTP is such a better place because of its mere existence

I never ship anything through the regular mail unless I have to. I made that mistake a couple times but last year they really got me. I shipped something through the regular mail worth $300.00 to a customer and I didnt insure it. (terrible mistake) Well the package never arrived so I had to make the parts again and ship them again. Now I only ship through UPS or Fedex and I make sure to insure anything over $100.00.
