I have mixed feelings right now.

Utilizing the backup saved game data trick. Where you copy your saved game data to a thumb drive prior to purchasing a car and gifting it to another account. Then delete the file and copy the file from the thumbdrive back to the ps3.

I just started doing this after grinding through 30 levels in a-spec and 28 levels in b-spec.

AND THEN, My brother messes up trying to get an X1 from a fellow racer. HE DELETES THE PS3 FILE PRIOR TO COPYING IT. So now EVERYTHING is gone. Need to start from scratch all over again. Lost 300 cars, 500 paintchips, need to race all races and events again. OMFG.

Sometimes, taking shortcuts isn't the best!
 
How is it possible that this many little brothers and young kids delete so many save files?

I swear I've heard at least one of these stories from every gamer I know. What the hell is wrong with those kids...

That's why you should copy save to PC as well, at least every few days. I'm doing that even tho i don't have anyone who can mess up with my saves.
Better be safe than sorry. ^^

then again, just pretend that you were in a serious car crash in A-spec mode and now you are reincarnated in a new...um, driver?

On the bright side, you get to pick a diffirent driver suit color...that is if you disliked your previous one.
 
I back up my save game every day or two just to be safe... accidentally hit copywhile on the USB drive instead of the game save and sweat bullets when I thought I lost 2 days of work...

Sucks to loose it all!
 
I'm not really looking for sympathy, I just feel like I need to vent or something. Yes its cheating, and I never cheated in Gran Turismo before. But this game takes so much grinding, I had to resort to this in order to make it enjoyable to me. And now that everything is lost, I don't know if I will ever even play again.

Why were you deleting the file anyway? All you do is overwrite it

I seriously can't wait to never have this problem. I don't have a little brother and I don't dupe/glitch ever.

Maybe some coffee will help you with all the leveling up? :sly:

Every week or so I copy my save game and put it on my PC just in case whole PS3 dies or I delete my save by accident.

Maybe try this next time if you decide to play the game again. I also would recommend cutting your brothers hands off.

Bummer that's why you need to overwrite the file not delete so that will not happen and should of kept a back up save file on the pc or on a different memory stick. BTW it's not cheating it's a exploit, just need to do it right

Besides, it's not exactly the first of its kind, as I recall this happening to someone else on this board just last week...
