OMG at the 1.06 update. It's AWESOME!

Is it just me or did PD improved the graphical details for all Standard cars!?

I don't know if this is a placebo effect but I took pictures of the same standard cars and the lines and curves are smoother and sharper than before! I have no idea how that's possible... How the hell did they managed to do that with just a download-able update!?

Another thing is the new B-Spec remote race. So you can only get cash reward for this? I've tried a few races with my friend's B-spec drivers and all I got was this yellow dot and it let me claim a small amount of cash after each race. I can't seen to entered with more than 1 of my own drivers and the EXP doesn't seen to go up.

I also noticed there's a check mark in the used car dealers now, so the cars you already owned are checked? It's awesome if that's true, I am so sick of managing my excel database.
 
The funny thing is, i came home last night at 1.15am to play some GT. Logged on to PSN and seen someones name say GT5 is updated. So i quickly loaded GT5 and it's update and WOW i was amazed at the longgggggggg list of changes / additions / fixes it was great !
I looked through and they had fixed 90% of everything people had been complaining about , heaps and heaps of stuff remedied for a 300MB update. I was amazed at the FR,4wd challenge etc, if you follow the HP recommended and give yourself sports hard tyres it really is a fun great challenge is i was f:censored: loving it, racing around at 2am with all these new online filters etc and seasonals.
I checked out the A-Spec A.I and sure enough they were actually fighting for position now.
BUT THEN, i heard my R32 GTR with stage 3 turbo, I CAN HEAR THE TURBO SUCKING that air through the intake FINALLY, finally there is awesome turbo spool and intake noise. And with 5.1 surround i tell ya, you really 🤬 hear it !

So i log-on to GTPlanet today and WTF, still all this moaning and negative threads and i just can't believe it. It has definitely put me off the forum side off this website and only use it as it place to meet for online leagues. I'm done.

Maybe when shift2 and forza4 come out all these little ****wits ( yeah i said it ) will leave this site and we might be able to have a decent debate and forum on the issues good and bad

Yeah someone should do a list of improvements since the patch that weren't mentioned in the official list.

I keep seeing minor changes like sounds, sparks or shadows, and I'm wondering is it placebo effect.
 
I wonder if next patch can play B spec race (not racing with online friend) anywhere? if yes, that will be COOL....
 
i love how they sped up purchasing and installing tuning parts. You just pick an item and mash the buttons. Done.

This pleased me almost as much as the addition of ballast and the changes to custom gear ratios.

Great update. I know one of the biggest things on my list was ballast and they got it.

All I want with the standards is the ability to switch rims on all cars and to give related cars the premium interior (all of the Acura NSX are the same, so if it's a 2004 or whatever it still can use the premium interior of the 91). For that matter, it's the exact same car as the JDM NSX-R but LHD with the normal hood and spoiler. Change the rims from white/gunmetal to silver and put an Acura logo instead. All of the 97-00 Civics should have the same interior except for the Spoon, perhaps, which really just needs the RM interior with the Spoon gauge cluster. Etc etc Easy!

Then MORE cars.
 
I have been pretty critical of GT5 in the past, after all this was the main factor in me buying a PS3 and not an XBOX 360. The game was far from perfect when released. But fair play to PD as every update seems to fine tune it a bit more and make the experience a bit better so generally I am happy with the way things are going.

Loving the new more aggressive AI in B Spec. My "Hot Bob" drives like he has a chilli up his backside and is sitting on a bed of nails.
 
IMHO this update really is among the best. I mean - proper gear ratio, ballast, the ability to quick change tyres in the settings menu. Power limiter, and a LOT more.
I think the Force Feedback has improved as well - and some of the sandard cars seem less jaggy.

This proves that PD is busy keeping the fans happy - so I don't get the whining.

My game won't even work after the install, it's just all black right before the intro video and stays black....

Give it a few minutes. After I downloaded the update, I thought my system had froze while loading. I was able to access the XMB, and noticed the HDD light flashin, so I gave it a little bit longer. It's loaded quicker ever since, so I imagine its some sort of update check, or last minute installation of files, security, or god knows what else.

Give it some time and see what happens.
 
I like how the game keeps track of what cars you have and what cars you don't have (which will help towards that 1,000 cars trophy)

E.g. Used car dealership, all vehicles that you have are ticked.
E.g. Premium vehicle dealerships, scroll along and any car that you currently have is also ticked.

Fantastic way of keeping track of the mind boggling number of cars you own, and any you don't have you can just buy straight away without fear of duplicating.
