So i finally get this car and head oer to the FGT event and all i can say is WOW! This race alone was worth buying this wheel. Its so intense and insanely fast how it feels to drive with this wheel. Damn that was hella fun! Am i alone?

While I'm not using my DFGT, it was incredible fun to run with the G27 :)

Yeah, as soon as I drove the FGT with my DS3, I knew I need to buy a wheel. I can't tap steer or on off throttle anymore.

you will get the same feeling again when you get to drive the Red Bull X2010, its incredibly fast.

Agree with bmxmad. If you think the FGT was crazy with the wheel, just wait till you open the X2010 challenge. It's like taking a handful of speed and getting in the FGT....

Maybe I'm the only one who feels it should be locked to 270 degrees for this car.
Maybe that's not possible, who knows.
I feel the steering response unrealistic for a F1.

I agree that would be nice, but I doubt it's going to happen. So I accept it for what it is and continue to enjoy driving the car 👍

And the world will never be the same after that haha . I did the FGT Championship after I got the X1 (Bspec 35) and the formula felt like driving a civic after doing some laps in it

I don't know why, but the Force Feedback of the Logitech DFGT while driving an Red Bull x2010 is inmense. Especially at lower speeds.
WTF...It feels (and sounds) like my wheel will be ruined after ten laps with that car :p

Sounds like you need a Fanatec wheel :sly:

He probably referring to a physical lock at 270 degree. Even though you can change the wheel rotation setting the Fanatec wheel still turn pass 270 degrees. I wished both wheels have some kind of way to physically lock the wheels down at a certain degree and not just stop reading after passing the mark settings.

You should pick up F1 2010. Very fun game with a wheel.

Stick with it if you can, I struggled at first, got 10th at Fuji but that's never been my favourite track, then got mixed results with a few wins here and there and ended up silver in the championship. Had medium slicks as thought tyre wear was a factor, but it isn't so use softs. I tried Fuji again on its own with softs and came second so going to do the championship again.

Make sure you do an oil change too, and an engine overhaul if you still need an edge. The steering is snappy for sure but you get used to knowing when to turn and ease off a little so you don't skid or spin. You can still just about get away with stabbing the throttle or brakes at times as long as you do so when the car is going in a straight line! On some later races the AI goes a little stoopid which also gives you a fighting chance (classic example mentioned elsewhere being Nurburgring GP)

OK i'll fess up, I do use anti-skid and ASM in the FGT but with a controller there is so little play in the steering and triggers that it's really not fun trying it without. Not to mention GT5 does seem to have very snappy steering with the DS3, even with various amounts of lock the car will start to steer slowly then go nuts and skate across the track. Makes some of the Nascar events pretty painful on those banked corners. Has anyone else noticed this? It's almost like the stick behaves like the d-pad buttons, as in the longer you hold it, the tighter it turns, which kinda defeats the point of an analog stick.

Good advice. So those funny looking yellow things under the sink are actually good for something! When they go missing, the wife might start to think I have a secret cleaning fetish!

Does F1 2010 lock to 270 or whatever on the DFGT?

I know the wheel can't like, insert some hard stop to lock it to a lower range of movement, but when using it with the PC you can adjust the range. It introduces a ton of resistance at the limits of movement, which works just fine. I've always played LFS at 720.

F1 2010 does not support 900* so yes, you get 270.

Totally agree. F1 2010 is a very enjoyable game with a wheel, but with that said, the force feedback on F1 2010 isn't near the quality of GT 5's force feedback. I suppose thats to be expected though.

Seriously? How do you drive with this wheel? I hope it's just practice. I just picked it up and am spinning out with my most reliable cars. I feel like I'm a beginner and should start racing the beginner league again. Any tips on settings? Can you turn driving force off? It's driving me crazy.

wait until you drive the F10. it **** on the FGT left and right. the FGT is actually a horrible car in my opinion. it spins out so much and the handling isn't even that good for an F1. the F10 on the other hand is a completely different story. sure it lacks top speed, but the handling compensates for it.

Go to wheel settings and change the steering response from 'Amateur' to 'Simulation' if you haven't done that already. Changing this one setting makes a world of difference.
