Yes GTP'ers congrats to me.

I won in a raffle a 2009 Mitsubishi Colt 1.5ltr 5 door hatch.
including on road cost total value approx $17,000.00 AUD

Here are some pics of my prize.

I entered a raffle, that was being conducted by local community football clubs.
total tickets were 20,000 and I paid for 5 and was given 2 (by the in-laws)

I'm curious to hear more about the contest. Was it held by Mitsubishi as an advertising gimmick, or what? As an inexpensive car, it doesn't seem like one that would draw a lot of contestants. Regardless, I'm glad you won such a great prize. 👍 It isn't often that you hear of people actually getting a huge return on their investment in a raffle!

Wow congratulations, I've never won any cars I've entered to win. Buy a lottery ticket while your at it haha.

What do you plan to do with it? Just drive it or sell it for a profit?

*says in 'fully sick' voice* OMG bro that's hektik yulleh!! :p

Honestly, congratulations OA. 👍👍 Are you going to keep it and drive it around or sell it as 'unwanted gift' for $2k under list?? :)

Congrats. Now get a piece of paper saying "HI GTP" How much was a raffle ticket btw?

$5 each ticket.

I knew you could sell them but did not know about the $2k under list. Is this so you do not pay tax?

I think we will keep it and use it, and use our Ford Laser as a second car. Never had brand new before, so maybe keep for approx 40 thousand kilometers or so then sell it before it loses too muchmore in value.

And thanks to all the cngrats I am receiving.

$5 a ticket? Wow, they made a good deal of money.

Wow! Congratulations!!

I´ve never won anything, except for a Ipod Shuffle 2 years ago - but it got lost on its way of delivery....

all it needs now is a roll cage and all you need is a helmet!

To do track days!!! then you can compare the car to the gt5 version LOL

Congrats, nice to hear about someone who won one of these car raffles for once 👍

I have never won anything except..........hmm I have never won anything :(

Wow, you actually won a car. I probably would have sold it . Last time I won a raffle was a pink Easter bunny backpack in primary school. Needless to say, my sister got it given to her within minutes.

I sincerely hope the winning ticket wasn't one of the two from your in-laws or you'll never hear the last of it :p

Congratsies anyway!

Question:

Answer:
Although the ticket that won the car was a gift from the in-laws. Better give them something to thank them.
Quick glimpse into the Premo section, and for those that didn't see it there. ;)

Very nice! I've never heard anything from anyone who's won one of these raffles. Good to see it was actually given to someone interested in cars.

The only thing I've ever won was $2 from a scratchy (which cost me $2).

I'm sure if you're willing to pay for shipping costs you might be able to work something out with Open Addict.

Bloody hell, nice one! Not every day you win a car! Hope you enjoy driving the think knowing it's cost you the price of a raffle ticket...

:odd: No of course, people only ever enter competitions for cars if they're expensive ones  It's still a 17k AUD car which is more than many people can afford and certainly a better raffle prize than a free meal in a restaurant...

In this day and age of financial crisis, you'd find us spending $5 on raffle tickets for $50 of groceries. :p

OA, the reason I said that is my mother has actually won two cars in the past (a Barina & a RAV4) and the RAV4 was sold back to the car lot. ;) No tax involved....it's a win like Lotto, tax free baby.

Cool, do you have to pay taxes on it over there? Here you would have to pay about $910 in taxes to own it...

Nice prize. And it comes equipt. with collision detection and damage rendering. Drive carefully.

No tax involved. It's a prize win, just like if a person won on the poker machines, or won at the horse track, or a lotto win. 👍 The only way he would be taxed is if his profession was 'gambler'.

It was for the local footy communities. And they do need it.

I actually liked the look of second prize which was a 42inch Plasma. but first prize will do. :sly:

HHMMM, although I have inquired about selling it and they would only offer $13,500, the reason is they were a little devious on the raffle.

I know. I wish our PAL would hold raffles instead of levies.
