Ok, had a party at my place... lots of random drunk people. Pretty typical party. People played some Madden on my PS2 and what not. I just let them do their thing and I fall asleep.

So I wake up this morning, toss in GT3, and boot it up. Go to simulation mode... and what do I find? "Day 1; 18,000 Credits; Car - "

Yup, drunks deleted my game data... :indiff:

So now I am just bashing the game... golded the b and a license exams, and I'm just gonna rush things with the RX-8 as best I can. Either way, I have no manner of luck :ouch:

The lesson is kids, don't leave your memory card out when drunks are around 💡
 
That's bad news, but look on the bright side if there is one. At least you can power through the game just in time for GT 4's release. How many times have you completed the game? cause I would be pissed if it was my first GT 3 file.

I'll think twice about letting drunk party goers anywhere near my PS 2.
 
Its my 3rd fresh game now... the one that was deleted was at about 50% and the one before that, which was also accidently deleted when I was copying some stuff was at 93% :P

I just have no manner of luck, but yeah, power thru time...

Note - the stock tires on the RX-8 burn off quick in tire wear races :P And it needs a better tranny. Still, its working well in the FR Amatuer races...

When I start a fresh game, I get all golds in the A license test, give the Miata I win an oil change and buy the hard compound racing slicks. Then I race it in the Roadster endurance race and take the 100,000. If I win the F1 car, even better cause I can sell it for lot more money. But either way, I've now got enough money to build up the Miata to win more races. It's the fastest way I know to get money and be racing.

I actually have 3 game cards. On one, I have a game with 2 of the 3 races won on every level. That's the races with the cars you can only win once. If I want one of those cars, I put that card in, race the third race, then save it to a second card. Then I pull out the first card and put the third card in. That's the one with everything won on it already. I buy the car from the second card, and I still have the first card so I can win the car again if I want to. I've won every color of RX8 and Vanquish using that technique.

i'm on my second fresh game......on my other game in jamaica i'm at about 80% and this game that i'm currently doing, i'm at about 75% however, i can't seem to beat the F1 race, cuz by the time i'm on race 5, the oil light turns on and the cars starts to noticeably lack speed dramatically.....the best i came was second in the F1 race :-(
 
Impressive.

With my luck, my PS2 would have broken into a million pieces, which all would have burst into flames...

Decided I'm just gonna do the Miata enduro, and hope for the Formula car... never had one of those in the game...

I take on the kids every Wednesday afternoon. This week was the last week of term, so they finished early on Friday. The PS2 went in and I toured around - until that stupid child did his best to break it.

Handily, it got rid of a mild, intermittant blue-bottom disk DRE in the process.


And to answer your next questions - No and about 4 seconds a lap behind.
 
I was getting really p!ssed at a game I was playing. I can't remember what game it was, but I was getting really annoyed. After the 50th attempt at what I was trying to do. I failed again. I yanked the DS2 back and hard. It managed to unplug itself, fly back and hit me in the face. It hurt. That's my worst PS2 experience

One kid came close on Smokey Mountain II, but since he was using the barriers at the start and end of the track section to get round the corners, it wasn't a surprise.
 
Can you call the administrators at our school, and make GT3 a part of the curriculum :lol:.
 
It's covered by "Citizenship" (yes - our National Curriculum has lessons teaching the little vomit stains how to be productive members of society. I remember when parents were supposed to do that).

They learn how to lose. A lot... :D
 
Oh boy, we have a similar class at our school (well, somewhat), called Life Skills. Now usually I'm a good student, but of all my classes, which include advanced math, science, and Language classes, I'm doing the worst in Life Skills :lol:. Currently we are learning how to use "Proactive Language". I just want to punch the guy who thought this was a useful class, and decided to ruin an hour of my day.
 
I have about a half dozen cards, and my "uber-saves" are safe from drunks and small children, and even larger children look for extra space on the cards for new games.

Sorry to hear about your story, but let me tell you... Don't blame the booze, blame your friends!

I get drunk way too often and never do anything as stupid as what your friends did.

If anything, they deleted your data because they are damned fools who don't respect the work you put into GT3. :irked:

Sorry to bash on your friends, but hey! Atleast I'm not around you in R/L as to actually bash your friends and not just make it a verbal bashing. ;)

Also, I am sure you will do fine with the game since you can gold licenses. 👍
That should lead you through the game pretty quickly if you can manage gold on all the licenses. :D
 
I have gotten golds in the iB and lower ones. ANd almost al in the rally. Its just taking the time :P

Did the Miata enduro... only to get a 1.8 RS :P

So now I am doing the amatuer FR race with the RX-8, upgraded with only a semi race tranny and T2 tires. Impressive car once you give it decent gearing, not its normal 100+ in 3rd :crazy"

I think something is out to keep me from the WRS though... had just gotten through most of arcade mode a couple of days before that, and put down some laps with the R34 :P

Naw, you can bash these people... parties are not happening at my place for a while.. way way too patient with drunks
 
If that happened to me, I would order them to do every race at the Test course, High speed ring including the enduro. That would show 'em.
 
That is an idea... cause those are the races I hate most...

I think I'll just do all the rally races, and use the Escudo to do idiot runs on those - max tuning, T2 tires, and a taped accelertor button... jus tcome back and check it every now and then ;)
 
Almost the same thing happened to me last week, it even kinda started freaking me out when I started reading your thread. My wife's little brother came over, and started playing madden 2003. The next time I went to play GT3, I noticed it didn't load anything. So, I tried loading my back-up copy from the second memory card slot....nothing. I checked, and everything had been deleted except for a madden 2003 setting save. I kinda wonder if it's something to do with the madden. I was halfway done with the game, first time.
 
I try to back up my game saves to my computer every month or so with the Shark Port. Saved me a couple times and saved my girlfriend once when her memory card got corrupt. 👍
 
This has happened to me too. Grrrr.

Just keep trying I cheated and used Gameshark but I just wanted to race.

Weren't you trying to complete most of the game in an MR2?

That happened to me but I got a save file on my pc. Lucky it happened a while ago as my hard-drive crashed the other day !!!
