Is this right?

I really hope not as we only have one ps3 in our home cant afford another, and both my two children have accounts as does my wife , does this mean if say one of my children send a gift car to a friend the rest of has are now blocked from doing so in our accounts ?

This can`t be right surly. if so that is so unfair, on the families that simply can not afford a PS3 for each family member.

yep its true. 1 car per day per console. i have 2 psn ids and me and my mate send eachother cars. he sent me one last night which i sent back today from one psn id. but when i tried to send another car from my other psn id. it said ive reached my daily limit

Only 5 paint chips as well per PS3.

It is right , 1 car gift per day and 5 paints etc from 1 PS3 , if you have 2 PS3's you can send from the other ..... (i know you have only one , i have just tested it and using 2 PS3's on the same wifi connection and it is permitted so either a PS3's mac address or wifi I.P. address allocated to each PS3 which is blocked.) I have not tried changing the I.P. address of the PS3's but will try later as like you there are more than 1 person playing and wishing to trade amongst themselves in the same family.

I just can`t see why they have implemented this, I can to a point understand the 1 mill limit I may not agree with it but I do see the reason behind it

But this why? I have a small family we are not rich in fact money is tight most of the time as it is for many, we all like playing the PS3 gt5 in particular, but I can not afford to buy a play station for each member of the house, so we like a lot of families I'm guessing all have our separate accounts , I really do not understand this move its favouring those that can afford many systems and hitting those that can not, and whats the justification behind it, why the need to implement this ?

Poxy isn't it. Although personally, I do like the 1,000,000 limt as it makes you actually work for your high end models and thus makes the game more challenging.

I have a brother who plays gran turismo 5 and does trading so we have to battle now to see who gets to trade.

Like I said the 1,000,000 has its plus and minus points but one transaction per day per PS3 is unjustified and really messes things up for families that have to share the one PS3 for financial reasons, I just don't understand the need to have to do this?

I couldn't agree more.

Conspiracy theory: Sony is not selling sufficient PS3's, after analyzing the gifts of GT5 they see a lot of them come from different accounts on the same PS3. Different accounts = different pots of money. Lets find a way to get a PS3 bought with every pot of money, ....[/Sarcastic/Joking Really]

I guess it's simply to curb people who have extra accounts to farm cars from, by using e.g. the backup exploit. Though in my view what harm does it really do... it's not like they gain some unfair advantage by doing so, yet the currently imposed limit does hit family situations, and the limit doesn't even stop those people from farming, it just limits the speed they can do it at...

They shoulda never put trading in the game. What an awesome feature that they have teased us with. Why even give us such a cool feature and lock it down? Why does PD hate their fans?

my PS3 is DMZ'ed so i can change my IP adress of my PS3... i think that allows you to trade more then 1 per day..i has allowed me before

I guess I will just have to gift 1 before 24:00 GMT and then gift another after that time. I hope the time frame stays the same and they don`t make it in the middle of the night.

Ya, good luck grinding for those multiple 20,000,000 cr. cars. Let me know how long it takes you to collect them all "legitimately." Don't worry I don't expect a response until GT7.

They don't care a out their fans. They care about their money.

Thanks Tafta. I asked on another thread if it's tied to PS3 or IP address. I guess this gives me a reason to drag out my old fatty and update it.

If you have a thing called a router than your internal IP addresses and MAC addresses never leave your home network. Unless it is padded into the data field to be deliberately sent the MAC address is probably irrelevant, more likely each unit has a unique serial number of some type in the firmware, or that another factor such as PSN ID is being monitored, or a randomly generated seed number was produced to uniquely identify each installation in the original install or one of the subsequent patches... really just theory unless you break the encryption and sniff the packet traffic with wireshark.

I get your sarcasm. It would be far funnier if the folks at PD were not the complete clueless idiots they are.
