One Make Races - how many cars do you need to buy?

The 2nd time I played GT3 I decided to try and spend the least money I could. You could get 100% without buying anything but a Tuscan and an SLK 230. I was thinking about this for GT4, and it looks like there will be a lot more cars you can't avoid buying.

I can't find any prize cars that can enter the Sport Truck Race, and it looks like several of the manufacturer races will require buying a car. You can't even win an Elise anymore except in the Elise Cup (in GT3 you could enter with an Elise won from the Amateur European Championship).

Are most of the manufacturer races limited beyond just having something from that make? For example, can the BMW MacLaren F1 GTR or the BMW M3 GTR enter the BMW race?
 
Most of the individual One Make Races have specific requirements. BMW in particular has an M race and a 1series race. Any M vehicle can race in the first and any 1series BMW can race in the other. So, I don't beleive the McLaren F1 GTR or M3 GTR would be able to race in a BMW One Make Race.

You can run the M3 GTR and even the M3 GTR race car in the M races...they have an M after all.

There are a lot of races you cannot win a car in order to compete in, but you could always cruise the used car lots for some cheap cars.
 
The Shelby cup is damn expensive. . . . but the Cobra is a rather versatile little beast. . . .
 
The best is the Triumph cup, you have to buy the car to enter and you win the car. At least you get a rare color. Also the Suzuki protoype race you race the open 2 seater which you get for winning the race. Still havent spent the money to try and get my other car fast enough, I get spanked by the three 2 seaters.
