For the first time in the Nissan Z's 37-year history, a high-performance Nismo 350Z is part of the Z lineup. The Nismo 350Z's aerodynamics package strongly resembles the Super GT championship winning Zs, with an aggressive front fascia with chin spoiler, side skirts, an extended rear fascia with underbody diffuser and a rear wing.

The package produces additional aerodynamic downforce for enhanced cornering and handling performance.

Additional performance features include a specially tuned independent multi-link suspension, Brembo brakes with four-piston front and two-piston rear calipers and NISMO-branded gunmetal gray RAYS super lightweight forged-alloy wheels. A special NISMO-branded tuned exhaust adds an even more aggressive tone to the Z’s standard 306-horsepower VQ35HR V6 engine.

The NISMO 350Z is the fifth model in the 2007 350Z Coupe lineup and is available only with a 6-speed manual transmission.

...Well, are we happy now?

Yes, it is lovely to see a rather attractive body-kit and a few decent performance mods thrown on the Z, but where is the power-bump? I had been expecting the 350Z-S, complete with the low-boost Supercharger, but it would appear that it was a no-go. Crap.

...I was hoping that they would give us something to hold us over until the GT-R hits the streets... Oh well...

"rather attractive"?

Whatever it is that is growing out of the rear bumper of that body kit is downright ugly.

I could have sworn there were two NiSMO Z's in GT4.

Yeah Nismo has done a couple different setups for the Z already, all with pretty much standard power though and the 350Z Z tune in GT4 was made up by PD, would have been nice if it was real.

Yes, but I am uncertain if they were ever offically sold in the US as production models...

...I know the Nissan/VW/Mitsubishi dealer I frequent sells the NISMO parts (as well as Ralliart and R-Spec), but not the full-fledged models... Or, none that I had really bothered to notice outside of a few stickers here and there...

The front looks like someone ran over a basketball just before the photoshoot, or maybe they kerbed it, and the wheels look like fleur-de-lis, but the rear end looks very JGTC (silly slip-on exhaust tips aside). Overall, it's a nice job...I think. Shame they couldn't be bothered to up the engine output at the time; it's a very Mugen approach, which usually isn't so bad. Either they're trying not to steal the base GT-R's thunder, or there's another R-Tune/GT-S coming out.

give me a bag so I could puke , thats just plain ugly ....and the exhuast tips are so cheap

So it's been 4 years since a 'proper' Nismo model has joined the line-up, and yet, they still haven't managed to build a car worthy of the Z-tune's presence; I too was expecting a moderate add-on such as a low-boost turbo/supercharger. But that aside (I'm sure they've already enjoyed many a clamor via a few thousand fan-boys regarding the delay of the GTR), I am surprisingly pleased towards it's overall design. Granted, the slip-on exhaust (what the hell happened there?) and Super GT inspired rear is a little insulting to the Z, but it's expected when a high-performance arm is pushed to supply a few motorsport aficionados until the next 'big' thing arrives.

But again, I am still disappointed as to the lack of any engine modifications. Oh, and if the makeshift Mugen S2000 is anything to go by, I wonder how much Americans will be paying in dollars per hp...

Actually, I think that's wrong.
Not sure but...
In one particular nissan Z comercial they showed a red Z with the exact decals of the Z-tune from in the game.

After a little searching on youtube I wasn't able to find the commercial (can't view much since I only have dial-up).
That said, I found this picture (looks real to me)...

That's labeled as a "S-Tune" though so I don't know what's up.
Anyone else seen the commercial with the red 's-tune'?
(flashes between a normal Z and a S-tune running around a city)

I'm confused about all the 'Nismo' Z models as well, but all I know is there is a S-tune kit for the 350Z (Global), a Nismo 380RS Fairlady Z (JP only, released 2005 and sold through dealers as an actual 'Nismo' Z), a NISMO 380RS Fairlady Z Tune S2 (or simply put, S-Tune 2. JP only, more powerful 325hp engine), NISMO 380RS-C (Japan only, 400hp) an R-Tune kit for the 350Z (Global,) and now a Nismo 350Z S-tune GT (US only, sold through dealers as an actual 'Nismo Z).

Hopefully they don't end up producing a Japan-only Nissan Nismo 380RS-C Fairlady S-Tune S2 GT.

The original concept of the Nismo 350Z S-tune GT was known simply as the GT-S, in which was labelled only a standard 'Nissan' and was actually sexy; boasting a supercharged engine. Unfortunately, the supercharged idea now seems to be missing and they've renamed it along with Nismo badging...

Yes thats the S-tune (I have seen one personally) and there is another variation of the S-tune with a even more radical aero.

I have never seen a Z-tune (Z33) though, an even on GT4 it has the PD logo thing (on the screen when you select it, not on the car) that all PD creations have.

It looks like a faux diffuser. I'm slightly ashamed to admit that I think it looks pretty cool.

What is NOT cool are the chintzy Pep-boys looking stick-on exhaust tips. What a total eyesore. My wife's Murano has them too and if they weren't welded on, I'd probably have ripped them off by now.

Yes! I remember that commercial!

Meh, a nice bodykit, I suppose, and a capable car, it might be a little faster around a road course. But, if you want something even faster, you could get the NISMO engine stuff on your own. or GReddy. or whatever.

I'd still drive one like that stock. I mean, 305HP is plenty. the original 350Z didn't make that much, I dont' think.

If you mean that little red and blue mark under the car name, then no, you are mistaken. :ouch:
There is no mark for any of the Nismo cars in the game (had to go check to make sure but I am absolutely positive PD does not mark any of the Nismo cars with the PD creation flag).

My guess is that PD simply messed up with the name and used power figures that were estimates.

Btw, glad to see someone remembers the commercial. 👍

I thought It had the PD blue and red logo (didn't double check), guess not.
