Is to create remote races. Sure you wouldn't need nor be as dependent on remotes if PD had gotten the CR system right to begin with. However, to bring the community together to support one another in remote races...you can never go wrong doing something that brings people together in a common goal.

Update

I am now convinced PD devised the credit system with remote racing in mind. All along I thought it and some other things were just a goof by PD. When in reality it was well thought out and executed. Just we (I) don't like it. So we(I) figure they're not too bright. Why has my thinking changed?

I do a minimum of 24hrs remoting each week. I've about 40 friends in my list that I run. I've got about 260 cars in my garage, some I'll never buy. I've about 10 mil credits with nothing in any of the dealerships I want to buy. I have enough cars to keep me busy for awhile. I am going to be "forced" to buy something pretty soon to keep from losing money.

In otherwords:

1. I have more than enough cash to do what I want.
2. Good news is I don't have to spend a lot of time in front of the screen to make money.

Granted I use the widget, while PD figured we'd be at work and would have to manually start each race. Which is still not as much time as having to sit in front of the console and grind.

Wonder what else they did that we think is a goof but in reality was exactly the way they wanted it. Do you think GT6 will come with a pre-installed widget?

Remote Racing can make you some gooooooooood money, especially if you have the widget and have some friends that have it/use it also.

The most effective way to utilize remote races is to just create a second account to host them and run all of your drives on your main, along with using the widget with this. This is what I do, so I never have to worry whether or not people are going to use my drivers.

I'm a remote racing addict, but before I get a million friend requests, know that my list is damn near full.

Racing everyone's Bobs has brought not only money, but also a ton of gifts and cars that I might never have gotten otherwise.

Thanks to all my GTP friends!

I'm not gonna vote. It's a "good thing", but I wouldn't say there's much "great" about it.

I'm glad, and it's good there's a ridiculously easy way to get some credits - except when hackers trash PSN and our online B-Spec Bobs are suck in "limbo" for a month or so...
(When all is said and done, though, they've gotten me down to needing a mere fourteen cars to have a full set!)

However, it's far from great.
Whether intended to be part of the final GT5 product or not, I think it's a kinda silly move on the part of PD to take the time to develop and implement this via the applicable update (which I think was 1.05 if I remember correctly) when there are other seemingly more important things that the GT5 audience would MUCH rather have seen implemented.
(I'm not gonna spread any more negative than necessary, so I won't get into that which I personally would rather have seen...)

Just my $0.02 on it all.

Peace...

I just stick my lower level drivers on remote race duty. If anyone wants to race them they can but I can't be bothered to do it myself. It would be better if some kind of emulator programme could be put on granturismo.com so it can be run without using a PS3 at all.

Agreed. I would use it everyday while I am at work if I didn't have to leave my PS3 on to do so.

PS3 having to be on is the worst thing about it, its very handy tho for an expensive car poping up in the UCD, just pop on the second account remote race your bobs for a while, and you can get those expensive cars which you wouldn't be able to get without doing remote races, excluding b-day glitching and any other stuff people do like that.

I love remote races and have the widget running about 15 hours a day. With yonis's widget it is extremely easy to do and make tons of money.

Just got the widget today after a friend got it a little bit ago. In about 5 hours him doing it I had a couple million (combined from all my drivers).

Went to bed at 11 with approx 2000cr woke up at 5 with 899,000cr thanks to friends doing remote races, so yeah, it's good!

All,

I'm using the tactic that MuoNiuLa suggested (i.e. using a second account to remote race the Bobs that you actually care about from your main account). I got the widget running successfully, but it only used 1 of the 2 Bobs from my main account. Can the widget be set up to use both Bobs?

Thanks for any help!

Paul

That's odd. I'm actually running the widget right now, and it always picks all 6 of my drivers.

The only things I can suggest to you are:

• Make sure your main account is under "Always Use" in the "Manage Drivers" menu.
• Click the helmet icon in the "Always Use" box and make sure you're leaving 0 drivers free.
• Make sure you have both drivers online in your main.

Hope this helps. 👍

All,

Nevermind! After watching the video, I saw that I missed a menu option within the widget to change how many Bobs were held in reserve.
