What do you think? We raise some cash, finish restoring this bad boy, and start terrorizing everyone that thinks his/her ride is fast.

Amazing what you can find on e-bay. A MIG??!!

Got an interesting little story on MiGs.

They used to run MiG joy flights from Bankstown Airport (Sydney's second airport, in the south western suburbs, for light commercial and private planes) - could see them when I played golf with a mate of mine at his home course.

The guy who had them had them picked them up through a contact somewhere in Eastern Europe with supposed Soviet certification that the planes were airworthy.

One of them crashed a couple of years ago with the pilot and the client killed.

The local aviation authority looked into the planes' papers, and as it turned out the aircraft were actually Polish museum pieces and were well past flying age - the frames were stuffed.

Nasty - fantastic to watch through the air - basically a giant jet engine with wings stuck on...

vat_man. Great story. Here I thought used car salesmen generally used bad sales tactics. But selling a lemon jet fighter? Dang; someone has to have no conscious.

That design does seem beautifully simple, though. Take a big jet engine, bolt some wings on it, and carve out a little space for the pilot, and let it rip.

Again my 323 is brought up lol!!! That's great man! And just judging by the condition of that MIG, yea the 323 would beat it...
