Online Connection

Mods feel free to move this because I didn't know whether it should belong in Online section or here...

Here's my dilemma, more than often I am getting kicked out of online games due to a "bad connection" - and yet I have something like 8meg broadband.

Here are my settings straight from the PS3.

UPnP - Enabled
NAT Type - Type 2 (I've heard getting this to Open can be a good thing)
Download Speed - 8.2Mbps
Upload Speed - 231.4kbps (poo)

I just can't get my head round it... :nervous:
 
Are you getting kicked by the host or just simply not connecting? If its the former, not a lot you can do and on your settings, nothing there that should be causing a problem. Maybe clear your cache in the options, see if that helps.
 
Kicked by host I believe. Get the "You have been disconnected from the server" error even after joining the room and about to race.

Rooms are taking a hell of a long time to load up as well. You're talking about 2-3 minutes.
 
It's probably just the host, being an ass. Out of every 10 rooms I join, trying to get a decent race on, at least 7 will be useless. I just now create my own room, name it "quick 3 lap races", and it will fill up after a few minutes.
 
I've taken your advice and created a room for myself. What Race Quality and Voice Quality do you choose??

Make sure you don't choose fixed room ownership
