Hey all. Just wondering if anyone knows any online databases that can be accessed for free. Similar to Ebsco. I need to find an article about Devics Disease for an upcoming paper.

Thanks in advance

EDIT: Whats a scientific periodical?

Have you tried searching the deep web? There is a lot of information out there that doesn't show up on conventional search engines Like Google or MSN. I've only just started to get into this area (out of curiosity), so my knowledge is very limited.

Here are some links I discovered for you:

Mednar

Pubmedcentral

PubMed

Complete Planet

CloserLook.com

World Wide Science.org

For more information, search for 'deep web' on Clusty (or what ever search engine you use)

I hope these help. 👍

Yeah, i fail at using search engines. They always seem to give me crappy results, so thanks for your help :D. It's greatly appreciaited

I believe that a scientific periodical would be like a journal or a scientific entry.

EDIT: moved

Scientific periodicals publish peer-reviewed research papers on a regular basis. You can find printed copies in university libraries, or view and search their papers through these online databases. As you probably know, these databases are available if you access them from university campus networks (assuming the university has subscribed to their service). My alma mater provided VPN access to the campus network, so I tunneled my traffic through their servers and was able to access the databases from home. You might want to give that a try if it is offered by your school.

^^thanks for the help guys....It's greatly appreciated
