This is my first GT game and I drive better than a lot of the people I've played against online. I've been competing in some of the beginners races especially at the Daytona track and I get started in last place. That's not the problem however it's the people that start in front of me that feel the need to try and knock me off the track when I try to pass them. I can move up to first or second most of the time when I don't get slammed but it's really starting to tick me off.

The online Beginner races at Daytona are particularly arcadish, full of bumping, sliding, ramming, etc. And lots of Integras. Standard physics is very forgiving when you run into other cars, and there's essentially no penalty for aggressive behavior. Pro races are better (but by no means perfect... just "passable").

I've been driving in professional physics since I started playing ^^ I noticed on the high speed ring there was slightly less bumping people to stop them from passing but then again I passed everyone at the bridge. I stayed near 100 mph until I went into the turn and came out near in the 80s. I took my turns a lot faster than the people I played against.

There were still some crashes that I avoided thanks to the other cars ghosting. I just passed straight through them while they were sideways.

i really do think the bumping and cutting corners on the grass/sand is getting out of hand
hopefully in the full ver of GT5 it will give penalties like minus credit or tuning points
or cutting corners on a grassfield would pull u out from the race

you're not driving in professional physics when you play the beginner races online because they are locked in standard physics mode.

Yeah but in the time trials and event races that I've done offline I've been driving in professional and I've been doing quite well. There are only two events that I haven't been able to get gold on in the C class events. The one on the Daytona oval where I have to pass all 15 cars in one lap and the time trial with the suzuki cappucino on the highspeed ring where I have to complete a lap in under 1:39.
