they are just good drivers
i dont use racing soft tires and I did once race against people withe race tires
if you are a GOOD driver you can keep up withe peopl and win IT

^nope hacking is still going on. Ran into a 10k hp Schwimwagen about 2 hours ago. But back on topic. Some good drivers can beat similarly powered cars on lesser tires. Think of it this way, you have 2 stock NA MX5's one on SH the other on RS, stock they come on CM(iirc) so the the SH is a step up already and is all the more grip the car can use so the extra grip provided by the RS tires is goin to waste. The car on RS tires wouldn't be much, if any, faster than the car on SH tires.

Sorry, I can't agree entirely here. I would definitely run quicker times with the RS tyres.

I'm afraid that's incorrect, from experience. Lap times tumble with RS tyres on, simply because you can corner harder and faster than is possible with lesser grade tyres on, and you don't lose as much traction from acceleration either.

Of course that's not to say someone on Sports tyres couldn't beat someone on Racing tyres. Just the former driver would have to be pretty good.

Indeed, it is entirely possible for a driver on sports tyres to beat someone using racing - however that's relying entirely on a gap in skill.

If two drivers were of similar skill level, one using sports and the other using racing the person on sports just isn't a match. You can test this for yourself just by going to a track in practice and taking a stock car out onto your favourite track, one lap with sports and the other with racing tyres.

It's possible that they were hacking but it's also possible that they were just better drivers, with the information provided there's no way for us to make that call.

Yes they avoided my questions about the tires but were friendly otherwise.

If I hadn't of noticed the tires I wouldn't have thought anything was unusual.

What's really bad about this hack situation is now If you win fair and square on your best track,people always wonder if your a hack.

Let me be clear I don't hack and don't know how to and don't want to know,but I think we should all know how to identify cheaters.

Most likely the person was using a hidden tire.

After the 2.12 half 🤬 update that PD realesed, if you are using a hidden tire, on everyone else's screens it will show the default tire that came on the car when first bought.

So say your car comes with Sports Hard tires. If you use Racing Hard Type V tires, on my screen it will show that you are using Sports Hard tires.

You can thank PD for their garbage update for this problem. This only started after the 2.12 update which enabled cheating.

What cars were they using? A car like the Chaparral 2J can quite easily keep up with LMP cars even if it's using sports tires.
If they were equal/similar cars then yes, it's most likely hidden tyres, but there are certain instances where the PP level is completely arbitrary, and any shuffle lobby will tell you this.
Also want to point out that some sneaky but legitimate tuning can make a car handle a lot better - add a weight reduction stage or two and then add a ballast to balance the car out to as close to 50-50 as you can get (or to whatever distribution you want, I prefer 50-50) and you'll definitely notice the difference, but there'll be next to no overall PP change.
