It is truly for the armchair sportsman...you can hunt animals from the comfort of your own mouse!

Species to hunt include:

It uses a zoom pan camera to target and a mouse click to kill, I don't know if any of the hunters here would find that satisfying, but I can see this site making a truck load of money...you have to admit its a pretty clever idea.

Of course...there is getting away from the wife and kids for a few hours, have a beer and a laugh with the lads, enjoying the outdoors, all those things make more sense than this. I find it quite bizarre.

There is a bit on "harvesting" and "meat processing". You can pay to have the carcass turned into steaks or cuts of meat and the head mounted as a trophy, all delivered to your door!

I could come home tonight after a few beers, and for a few dollars, sign up kill a couple of deer and then wake up the next day to the postman knocking on my door with some stuffed head.

I'll be out at 4 am for opening day Monday , and I can assure you that if I see any computer monitors it will be caused by a bad dream. This has got to be someones Idea as a joke, guys think about it for a few seconds...you do know what a hoax is right ?

It's not a hoax. I've seen it before, it started with just shooting at paper targets, and now this. It's quite retarded, but not a hoax.

So how exactly do you get the animal to come into range and stay there ? Are you going to set up the table near a salt lick ? BTW thats not hunting. Better yet put the computer in a gillie suit..have it stalk the target..

Right so how do you move the rifle to make a shot..the animals can go anywhere, the rifle is in a bench rest. You sit and wait for the animal to wander in front at just the right angle ?

Disabled and handicapped hunters, as well as others who would like to try this type of hunting, will be able to use our system. This is offered in addition to the traditional hunting methods that will be available at the ranch. For those interested in coming to Texas for a hunt, lodging and meals are available in nearby Rocksprings. Transportation is available to and from the ranch and pick up form San Antonio international airport can be provided. Listed are some of the species which will be available on a year round basis.


I still cant get beyond the fact that the rifle is limited in its movement and the target is not.

ledhed its a tilt / pan / and zoom rifle jig, it allows a fair amount of movement. If you watch the video you can see that the rifle moves pretty slowly, so you could only hit an animal that was standing still long enough.

The range is supervised, it says that an operator attends each session to answer msn or email questions and can disable the gun if an inappropriate target is selected. It mentions that if a protected species of bird flies into the arena, then the gun will be disabled.

I'm not defending it, and its certainly not "hunting", but as a reality/video game its a weird concept.

If you have ever been hunting you would understand why I cant see this setup working very well or at all. I cant see the movement of the rifle keeping up with the target and the movement is very limited compared to a human. it seems that you would need a very docile target to stand in just the right area in relation to the set up just to aquire the target. Then once you accuire the target it must stay still until you can get the rifle on the target ( heart/ lung or head ) shot..granted sometime a deer or other animal will do something crazy like stare at you from 50 yards away while you shoot it ..or by use of bait or scents you can get the animal into an area, but they tend not to linger . And if you are driving the animals accross the range of vision of the set up then you are shooting at a moving target.
I guess you can train the animals to linger in an area and set up the shooting rig to take advantage of it but is that hunting ? Why not just walk up to it and hit it with a hammer ? it wont cost as much.

I don't think you need to have ever hunted to realise that this game doesn't fully represent a hunt. It is a sanitised version for those that don't like the nasty reality of a dead animal, the smell and the mess. Also you don't have to get out of your chair, or exert yourself in any way so I do think there will be a market for it in the way of lazy wannabe hunters.
