Hello.

There is a problem at the start of most online races, where cars are released at irregular times. Commonly, most of the cars appear to be released together, but there is almost always a small percentage of cars who are released before everyone else - like a jump start!

I'm very suprised that I've heard nobody else mention this. I know some people will be quick to suspect lag issues, but it's not just that. Very often my car is the jump-start car, and I clear cars in front so easily.

What are other's opinions?

Yes, I've noticed this as well. I figured it was a problem with the various players not being properly synched. It always seemed a tad odd to me that it takes precisely 20 seconds for the sync countdown, I didn't realise connecting up all the players properly would be that metronomically consistent (I think I just invented that word).

I'll leave it to Jeff to complain about it on Eutechnyx because he feels more strongly about these things than I do.

I think Jeff and Alan could be named our "official complainers"! And we will, of course, buid them a statue in recognition for anything they achieve! :D

Btw, Mario, don't use 'metronomically' in an English exam, you will fail. Though given that i'm its inventor, I think it's a brilliant word and I don't see why it can't be used 👍

Last time I did exams was about 20 years ago, so now I use whatever words I like :D

And I'd say the metronomical chances of me using your word have metronomically been measured as being under a constant increase rate

LMAO @your user title 👍 👍 👍

Who knows, maybe this will catch on. That'd be like, totally metronomical 👍

Sorry Shaggy, but I think the term has already been taken.

1. Of or relating to a metronome.
2. Mechanically or unvaryingly regular in rhythm: a metronomic rendition of the piece.
metro·nomi·cal·ly adv.

And if memory serves, it's also the nickname of the St. Louis Subway.

Oh snap :)

Last Friday when I joined Alan, Mhm, turnupdaheat, Frawe and others I noticed in the races that at the start, cars were just driving right through each other... Turnupdaheat just showed up driving through me and then through the person in front of me. Looked very strange but also just thought it was lag... So didnt think anything of it... but maybe it has to do with this as well... Dont know what the race settings were, but I dont think this was supposed to happen after reading this...

Misja, probably the host in that lobby had collisions set to OFF, meaning the cars are permanently "ghosted" although they appear to be solid.
