Online keeps disconnecting me

The past few weeks I have had trouble staying online in a room. I join and get on track and within about 5 minutes I am disconnected back to the Open Lobby screen, still connected to PSN. Is anyone else having similar problems? Is it maybe a router setting and does anyone else know how I should configure it for best online stability. I have been using WiFi but might try a wired connection. Sorry if this has been covered, please direct me to existing threads if this is the case. Thank you!
 
Try switching your DNS Servers on the PS3 to primary 8.8.8.8 and secondary 8.8.4.4

These are google DNS servers and have seemed to help with connection issues.

Switch to wired connection.

Will not hurt anything either.
 
Hope it helps some. I was having all kinds of problems with disconnects here in San Antonio, TX with Time Warner. They are the ones who told me to switch over. Very few disconnects since then.
 
I get better ping on the OpenDNS servers;

@jstickboy13 try these too.

Btw, what is your NAT type on the PS3?

Oh and yeah, I just reverted back to wired, there's no comparison when it comes to reliability.

Even if the PS3 had "Wireless N", which it doesn't, wired would still be more reliable.

Wireless is just for convenience, not performance.
