Online lobby disconnecting

I've been having this problem for a while now. I can only stay in a lobby for about a max of 10 minutes before it will say "Disconnected from lobby server" and send me back to GT Life. It is really annoying, seeing I can't finish anything at all, and I need to reconnect and everything all the time. Anyone know what this problem might come from?

Wireless is generally less stable than wired, so it could be down to the internet. See if you can connect the PS3 directly to the modem, and see if that helps. 👍

Yeah, getting an ethernet cable often helps with connection - I have an ethernet cable and my connection is a lot better than it was before. Sometimes I still disconnect, but that could be mainly down to the host of the lobby having a bad connection, or someone in that lobby.

I better go find one heck of a cable then, it's quite some way to the modem.

I've been getting disconnected more recently in the last week also. Don't know why, might be because of the storms we are getting from the hurricane but i guess i'll have to live with it.

Ok, now my PS3 just says "Connect an ethernet cable" in the settings. Even though I have the cable connected!

All I can suggest is to re-boot the console.

Nope. Nothing. Still tells me to connect the damn cable. The cable itself is alright, it works on the computer.

Have you got any other Ethernet cables? The PS3 might not recognise the one you are trying to use.

Yep. I've checked the condition of everything that's shoved into anywhere, and all plugs and sockets are all good.
