Online one make races - why so few cars?

So, I like racing. Pure, straight forward racing.
What I like the most about it is driving. I'm nowhere near of beeing a car nut, nor do i understand the technical side of cars to get fun of setting up cars and tune them. I just love driving and racing.
So, for me, one make races are the best thing in this game.
Choosing a car, everyone hast the same car, same setup. I dont have to think about, ride height, transmission and whatever. Perfect.

But why so few cars? 1200 cars in the game and PD gives us 25? twenty-five?! why not give us, say, 1200 cars?
Is there an official (or unofficial) explanation as to why so few?
Why not let me as host choose a car from my garage and everyone in the lobby gets this car, with the same setup?
After I more or less finished the career, I see myself driving only a massive 25 cars out of 1200 from now on, because our little racing community does mostly one make races.
what gives?

also, on a sidenote: shuffle races! What happened? Is there a statement why they got removed?

I love the game, i love it more then 5, but this could be real bummer over time..


tldr: is there information about the small amount of one make cars and the absence of shuffle races?
 
yeh im with you on this. also why are karts not allowed on the majority of tracks online and offline. yet we race karts on various tracks in career mode??? would love a shifter kart race online at brands hatch and a few other tracks.
 
What they should do is allow the host to choose a make and optionally a model from all the cars in game and then anyone who joins the room could use that car as a loaner. Or better still they should allow the host to also set the performance restrictions and allow players to choose either a loaner which would be stock or a car from their own garage that would match the make/model and performance restrictions.

It would also be nice if the host could set the room as a one make and choose a car from his/her garage where all people in the room would drive that same car from the hosts garage. This way you could run with tuned cars but all the members would be using the same tune and could make for some good racing.
 
This is my biggest complaint. I love the idea of everyone using equal cars but there just isn't very many. :( they should at least have every premium.
I don't even care if you had to buy it first to unlock it's use online. Just silly to be stuck with such a limited selection.
 
@steiner, this! I cant understand why its so limited. How i wish i could race a ferrari 458 (my favourite) against a field of completely stock 458's and really test myself against the best online. Even a lovely mix of 200/300 of the cars would instantly add so much depth to the online side of things. Great shout steiner 👍
 
Because the cars that are available are placeholders. More cars will be available soon, and by soon sometime within the next 10 years.
 
i hope the choices are periodically changed/updated. Would've made 5 last a little longer.
 
I have some hope for the online/community update that is comming.
Maybe this brings more cars for one make.
Also Ive read that you can set up clubs and leagues(?), maybe there u can make specific cars mandatory for individual races. Maybe with a requierement for stock? Please PD!
That would be ace.
