Online Problem

Whenever i try to join a server, theres at least 1 not loading and therefore I can't see them on the track, and sometimes people say I'm lagging a lot ,but whenever i host the server all the people say that they never lag and I can see all of them clearly


I have Comcast Xfinity (of course) with 38MBPS download and 6MBPS upload

I have wireless connection atm, but same thing happens when im on wired connection

Could it be my aging 80GB PS3?
 
Some people are just incompatible with your Internet.. If you are hosting a room it won't let people in that aren't compatible with your Internet.. But if you are joining a room you might be compatible with the host and another person is also compatible with the host, but this doesn't necessarily mean that you and said person are compatible.. I hope this makes sense? The host might be running a 15mb connection then you might be running 38Mbps but someone else could be running 3mbps, therefore you both can still join on the host..

Oh so basically whenever someone has a really bad internet they wont load on mine because we aren't compatible with each other?

Correct, atleast this is what I have come to realize.. I use to have 3mbps Internet and have that problem all the time.. Now I just make my own lobbies since I have 50/10(ish) mbps (insight fiber optic) :) .. But I still have that problem where I can't see other people, but 90% of the time it's usually foreign countries.
 
If one or both of you leave the room and rejoin it may fix the issue.

Putting your PS3 in a DMZ means it's no longer behind your routers firewall. I've always had a wired connection but switching isps, setting up a static ip for my ps3 and putting in my routers DMZ has fixed the issue for me.
 
Well, it can't be a speed problem. I've got 5 mbps download and around 500 kbps upload, running wireless (NAT Type 2, I think), and I'm always running fine.
 
Lol dean your the one that thinks they're fine and someone can't see you or your "ping-ponging" all over the track like a tornado has ahold of your car! ..joking.. :D .. But seriously it is hard to tell by the person with the "slower" Internet.

Haha. Well, I don't think that have ever happened.
 
The 'incompatible' internet problem can be fixed if more hosts used the Fixed Host option.

If two 'incompatible' people are in a fixed host room (but they are not the hosts) they will see each other

If two 'incompatible' people are in a non-fixed host room (but they are not the hosts) they will not see each other

Two 'incompatible' people will not be able to enter each others rooms that they may be hosting no matter what, fixed host or not.

However, a 3rd party hosting a 'fixed host' room will allow them to see each other, provided they are both 'compatible' with the 3rd party and can enter that room.

Clear as mud, eh?
 
this happend 2 me 2 and the problrm is bad connection have u ever played a car game but the car dosnt just its light kinda like that
