This is awkward for a supposed sim race. I mean i have fun with the carrer mode but every time i go online, i feel frustrated cause everybody race like idiot. Everyone try to ram everybody out of the track. Where is the fun with that? 👎

I did not buy a derby demotion game has i know. EA should have add time penalties for that kind of behavior!!!

It's a sad fact of life that the internet (and especially the world of online gaming) is full of immature little kids with too much time on their hand. Nothing EA can do about that except -indeed- install a penalty system.

It's a bit unfair to blame EA for the behavior of the average internet user though.

Sadly it's no different from any other racer on console's, get a good lobby however and this game is incredible online....most fun i have ever had with a racer.

But yeah we need penalties in this game!!!!

Well, lobby filtering based on ANY driving preferences instead of Helmet car usage would do for a stert. However, will not happen obviusly.

like every game of every kind. I remember i tried GRID and there were people going wrong way on the straight just to do amazing crashes during a normal online race.

Just like GT5. Drive in rooms you know or you have a good chance of encountering an idiot. Walk around 10 minutes outside and you have a good chance of encountering one too. They're everywhere, and they suck at driving games.

Best thing to do is find other people who race clean and build up your friends list. This forum is a good place to start, make sure your PSN or Gamertag is under your avatar when you post. Now when you go online you can race without encountering as many morons. And for god's sake, get a mic when you play. It's much easier to set up the room to everyone's preference if you can talk to them.

I try to race as cleanly as i can. Obviously, the physics in S2U makes it a bit difficult to be careful when you "gently" tap someone from behind, both of you end up in a wreck. If that happens, i usually slow down and wait for them to recover. But people take it too seriously and just end up ramming you on the next turn.

If I start in the middle or back off the start, I'll try to watch the others and take a different line into the first turn. Then I just brake a hair early and watch as half the pack smashes each other into oblivion, and I'll just find a hole and slide on by, usually giving me an instant podium spot.:sly:

Hopefully in a few weeks all the little turds will have gone back to doing team kills in Black Op's.

Driver profile in shift 1 somewhat helped filter out those kids who think the game's destruction derby. I'm surprised SHIFT 2 didn't progress that idea.

I have read somewhere that they still monitor precision/aggression behind the scenes and use it to match you to a similar driver online. Also that they monitor the amount of times you quit before an online race is over and try to match you with drivers that are similar. I don't remember where I read that info so I may be wrong...

Anyway, I haven't tried online yet, too much fun with career mode! :D

Yep... same with me. I do remember a race around Nordschleife against an S15 while I was in my RX-8, and well... the Silvia couldn't drive, AT ALL! Whoever was controlling that car was either 3 years old or drunk, because every turn he kept smashing into walls and going off course. So then I felt bad for the guy because it was only him and I on the track and I was pulling away at every turn. I slowed down and stopped at the end of an apex to allow him to catch up, and what does he do? Bashes right into me! Now, I wasn't a sitting duck, I pulled off to give myself space to potentially avoid this but at every turn when I would brake... WHAM! He'd be under my rear axle. I thought this was just his poor driving so I allowed him first position and just trailed him until I could find an opening and blast past him, and that's when I knew he was doing this all on purpose.

He was driving eratically because he felt pressured to keep up, braking too late and smashing walls, etc. I noticed that while I was behind him, I would poke my nose up beside him to see how he would react and he wasn't going to just cut my line off, he was diving his car directly in my way to cause a wreck. I kept weaving from left to right of him to watch his movements and every time he wasn't just going to ease into my path and cut me off.. he was out for blood. Eventually I got tired of this, giving him some of his own medicine going through a turn and left him in the dust.

Point of this story is that, while demolition drivers can be terrible to deal with during crowded races, you can race smarter than them if given open road and isolation with yourself and that driver.

A tip... if you know they're going to wreck you/block you over-aggressively.. hang behind them until a turn and creep your nose up on the outside of the turn, let them drive themselves off the road as you hit the brakes and dive inside to the apex. :)
