I heard a rumor that the new update is going back to the PP (Performance Points) system for online racing. I sure hope this is true! I believe this would balance online racing, stop arguments on what car you choose, and force the driver to make sacrifices to their car by choosing Racing Soft tires for traction or Racing Hard to get more horsepower but less traction... or whatever setup you find best for you to make PP requirements. I will always respect a hosts' rules when racing online. Even though your race car makes the weight and horsepower restrictions, some just don't want race cars in their room even if they make weight and hp regulations. I mostly race with online friends and in leagues, but sometimes you are just looking for a quick race and that can be more of a grind then playing A-Spec and B-Spec mode. You get into the room and you then learn you can only race certain cars. I believe or I'm just hoping that the PP system can solve online racing confusion/problems and make races closer. Of course they could always have an update that has a place to check off (like the Ferrari F1) to allow manufactured cars only, race cars only, and or both. What do you racers think... PP System or happy with the way it is now?

Btw... if anyone is interested in joining leagues or creating their own league, check out www.gt5racecentral.com

I'm hoping they keep it as-is with an option to use performance points for lobby settings.

The most entertaining racing I've had has come from the current system; the PP system works but then it doesn't, certain cars just run away. I prefer to be able to drive what I WANT to drive and be competitive than drive what I HAVE to drive to be competitive.

I think it could be an optional restriction like power, weight, etc (and that can probably be stacked to these).

If they change to a PP system there will probably be cars that are just faster at a certain PP level. The Clio T and Ferrari C were faster than any other car when tuned around 700PP in prologue. And at 750-800 nothing could hang with the GTLM (although the Tuned Vette was close).

A PP system MAY be better, depending on how well it's implemented. I hope for the best but expect something a little less than the best.

I agree and hope for the same. Sometimes I like to go underpowered to make for a bigger challenge. Some of my friends aren't of the same level as me so with them I always go underpowered to make it more competitive and fun for all. Being locked to a PP range would probably prevent that.

Future updates could always rebalance the PP system in case some cars prove to be too fast for their PP rating, however.

I hope the add PP as another option as well options for ...

Car Class
Open
Race (Race Cars + ...)
Tuned (Tuned Street Cars + Stock Cars )
Stock (Stock Cars only) I'm not talking about NASCAR.

Drive Train
AWD
FWD
RWD
Open
Open (AWD-p) Penalized AWD. AWD cars will have slightly lower HP limit, Higher weight minimum.

If they add PP, they will need to add the ability to save setups as it would get incredibly annoying to have to manually go change your cars' PP every time, multiple setup in the way FM3 does is recommended. Unlimited amount of saves for each car. What I find stupid is that when you are online, it gives you all the information about opponents cars except for HP, seriously what in the hell? I know what tires they are running, ABS, TCS, manual or auto...no hp?

Like Rotary Junkie said... it would be great as an option.

I still can't find any improvements to online with PP if they appears as they were in GT5prologue. We have already hp and weight limits to make races as host wants, also 'one car' system has worked well.

This is going just as "s2k2k3" wrote, there will be few cars which everyone uses or even one and that makes races boring i think. Now we have good variation of cars and it is a lot more fun to win with car which nobody else is driving.

If PP messes things up hopefully there is option to go without it on hostmenu as we have now done and enjoyed of every minute in online.

Agreed with Rotary Junkie, I've had one of my best races in different cars using the current system.

The PP system, if implemented properly, could work as well.

i am with junkie on this i hope they keep it like it is i am in a racing online leage i wonder how the pp system is going to work with this or around but i like being able to use the car i want when i want aslong as its in the host regulations
