Being that this ideas kinda out there, and may or may not have been already suggested/done/said, It may or may not be worth your read. But I've been thinking for awhile. Being one of the many (or few?) That has not mastered GT5P yet, And being very eager to learn. I want a faster way to learn then just taking lap after lap on every track doing TT's or online. I think, with mass organization lead by a very respected member and someone with ambition, we can organize quite the school going over a Team-speak type system, allowing GTP members to chat about the race, or in the school system, have the lead car talk the follower (or visa versa) Through the race. I believe giving more of a in depth learning experience for those of us who just have not got it yet. I'd like those of you who are interested in this idea, to build off this. Im not sure this is the correct direction to go ahead with this, but I got to be onto something!

It is a great idea, and works in the real world. But in GT5 it is not realy possible. All the lead car has to go on is the "student" road position, and when the brake lights come on. Without being able to sit in the car and talk someone through it, like in a real life race school.

Unfortunatly, whene it comes to a driving game you dont have maney options, but to do lap after lap. The racing line gt5p gives you is probably the best teacher you could have when it comes to a game. just follow the line, and then slowly get faster, braking later applying more throttle earlier on in the turns. Then you will start exsperimenting with your own lines and turn in points. So "slow in fast out" is pritty much the only advice anyone could give you from a veiw of the back of your car.

And basicaly it all boils down to Practice makes perfect.

I instruct in real life. I can see it being a big challenge, as we can't ride along with you. Watch your habits. Watching a video, we can critique your line, and give you pointers, but that is about it.

I suggest picking up an actual racing book. One that goes over the fundamentals of high speed driving and racing. I know Senna put out a book that was simple, and not to long to help the begginer.

Watching bumper-cam or incar replays of the worlds fastest TT's will get you a PhD in driving school. Then it's just a matter of many many laps of practice.

Its certainly not just me. many many others. I just figured it'd be kinda cool to follow a really good driver while talking to them over TS or AIM chat or something....

you can't do that which is bad, but what I do everytime i'm in a TT competition is download the 10th fastest lap ghost and just try and stay on their tail, suss out their braking points etc. Using this method, I have gone a second faster on the first lap following the ghost - with more improvements coming later untill I'm less than half a second off the 10th fastest time on the track.
I choose the 10th time because Ican keep up close with them to ensure I know what they're doing. The ranking system with the replays and ghost downloads are an extremely good tool for squeezing more out of any car.
