New to the forum. Not new to GT. Im loving the online racing (other than not being fast).

I have a setup that had me turning quick laps at the Suzuka circuit (offline). I was using the Mines Skyline. I had the Traction Control set to 2. The car was coming out of the corners great. I then take the same setup online and the car wants to spin every time I accelerate out of a corner! Same setup! I had to bump the TC up to 5 or 6 to correct this problem and my lap times are nowhere near where they are when I race offline. I am getting my ass toasted on the 700 class Suzuka circuit! I realize online there is a little lag, but why does the same exact car setup on the same exact track not handle the same what so ever?

thx 4 the help

You have to let your tires get up to temperature before getting full performance out of them, also often in online you'll get punted off the track. You have to be careful for a while afterwards as your tires will be dirty and you will have a lot less grip.

Are you using standard physics offline?
might be why its different online,as you have to use proffesional i think.

Ahh good point! Thats probably his problem. I never used standard physics in the first place.

I'm 99% sure physics is the problem. Cuz the mines skyline has to be in the PP700, i tried tuning it to PP600, not possible. But PP700 is pro physics, my mines skyline ripped through suzuka on standard physics too, but took me a whole day to figure out why the tail was wagging when i went online in the PP700...

ding ding ding!!! i think youre right. I use the standard controller and messed with the physics to combat the jerkiness of the steering and the all or nothing feel of the throttle. So is everyone pretty much using a Wheel/pedal setup? I really dont feel like buying a wheel. not to mention the ridicule Il get from my girlfriend haha. I want to be fast tho!!

and hey GTsomething, without being too specific, did you fix your oversteer with something other than TC settings? Im trying to just get on the throttle a little lighter, but I just cant get a feel for it.

and yes this is all in the 700 class

In my experience, there's no way I could ever be as fast on my controller as I am with my wheel.

fix it as in having too much oversteer? lol. I thought it understeered alot so I made it oversteer using toe settings ^^. Which is maybe why the car wiggles so much when in professional physics...but I turn TCS off, it slows you down =\. Only way to get my car to grip with the pro physics is better tires. like R2 infront and R3 in the back...but I actually had to put on more weight to make it 700PP or under ><

I guess by wiggle I thought you meant oversteer... I understand you want the TC set as low as possible, but I am losing the ass end every time i get on the throttle (in a 4wd car!!) And I really dont understand messing with the toe. I've never heard of any real life scenario in which you'd wanna add + toe in the rear, maybe a little -, but im pretty sure + would make the car looser yet. I know in oval racing you may add some + toe up front to get the car to turn in easier, but in the rear?? But I realize its just a game, and Il do whatever it takes to go fast!!!

my bad... it looks as if guys are adding a little + up front, and a little - in the rear. this should make the rear a little more stable i guess.Ill give it a try

I love the Mines,i will get a 5.10 on FUJI before i die,still trying by the way.:dopey:

Anyway my setup for FUJI i set rear toe at -.35 and front at -.08, still trying to get the front better.
I also run rear camber at 3.8 and 1.8 at the front, i think the front is best i can get with that setup.
But i think no amount of tuning will get the back in check if you want the front tight.
But i find it easier with those settings.

Peace
