I'm surprised no one has made this thread yet. So I might as well make it.

As we all know, in the recente update, PD added Time Trials to Sport mode. In this thread you can discuss whatever you want in regards to this topic, which cars you like better, strategies to get better times, etc.
And of course, post your own times, which I will start with mine of 1:58.927 using the Hyundai Genesis Gr.3.

Used a Dual Sense, No Assists, ABS Default, Controller Sensivity at 8, Manual Gears and Chase Cam.

I did about 80km or so to get this time. It's not the best I could do, in fact my ideal lap with the combination of the best sector times would've been 1:58.6xx. But it was still a solid effort. Low 1:58s or High 1:57s are in the table after I spend an entire day driving around the track (basically, a lot of blood and sweat).

However, no way in hell can I ever hope to get into the 1:56s or even low 1:57s. How the hell do these guys find over 2 bloody seconds I just can't imagine. And with the BMW M6 to boot...

I notice the number 1 guy in Degner 1 almost goes off track and slides sideways, which actually gives him a lot of speed for the entry/exit of Degner 2. I've attempted this and every time I ate the sand.

I think the time trials get less attention compared to GT6 because they don't have prizes or tuning allowed like back then. Not many people will want to compete if there is no incentive to and those that do compete don't have much to test with no tuning.
I think the fun for this trial in particular is to see how high in the leaderboards the obscure cars can get. If only there were a way to search for individual cars.

Actually, in terms of rewards, PD did say that you will get rewarded. But I think you have to wait until this time trial is over (which is in 7 days I think). But considering it's PD, it's likely going to be peanuts.

They could've added 1 more time trial for tuning though for those that do want to invest in setting the car up to the limit and enjoy tuning. I particularly don't like to spend hours and hours just finding the absolute right settings, so BoP or "one-make" time trials is for me the best, but I do understand a lot of people like it that way.

as far as I'm concerned, this Time Trial system with BOP is really useless and uninteresting. I don't see any interest in it. It was much more fun to build a car just for Time Trials and offer it to the community. It was much more rewarding to see that certain riders managed to beat your time with your own configuration. There frankly PD does anything.

I'm struggling to get into the 58s...

(I'm sure on PS4 it has less grip  ...just kidding).

Oh, the last time I checked, there were 35.000 drivers participating. ;)

PD should've done TWO time trials, one with BoP and the other without it. And we would have both options to choose from.

A new personal record. I decided to give it a go with the M6 (Sprint Model) since it seems to be the one used the most within the top 20 players and yeah, once you know you have to short shift and coast a lot with this car, it's actually faster (at least faster than the Genesis and AMG GT and 911 RSR which were the ones I've tried so far).
The car is an absolute pig on the hairpin though...

1:58.397 with an ideal lap of 1:58.285. Yeah, very satisfied, got within the top 300 and only need 2 extra tenths for the top 200. Top 100 is high 1:57s (1:57.8 I believe), which yeah, I think it's unreachable for me.

Unfortunately I don't know of any to check the overall list of players who are participating in the event to see the full stats.

So... did we get a reward? Anything? I feel like it just disappeared and got replaced which.. ok then.

It also got replaced by Le Mans gr1. Which is fine.. but we've had that combo three times in the past week, so it's insanely stale.

I logged in and didn't receive a prize at all. I was ranked within the top 340. So the prizes are going to be awared on some other day or only the top 100 get prizes? If somebody here got within the top 100, can you confirm this?

Considering the top 100 is like 0.1% of players, it's kind of harsh to the other 99.9% who participated, so I really hope this isn't the case.

Then again, I'm not expecting big prizes either...

In GT Sport, no credits were awarded for time trials. These were included under the same 'Sport' section as it is now in GT7.

We need the return of time trials which are included under Seasonal events, as they were in GT5 and GT6 with prizes awarded for bronze, silver and gold.

Aye, but they specifically mentioned "Addition of online Time Trials with rewards based on the player’s position in the online rankings"

Which is what we all assumed this was... but the rewards? Not so much apparently. Not that I'm surprised.

I'm very annoyed as the time trials is where i spent most of my time in previous titles. I looked forward to the Seasonal Events refresh, but with GT7 my patience is running out. How simple is it to add a weekly event.... Wreckfest updates 2 new events daily at 8pm!

That is WHAT I also do not understand. They have resources, good budget and a strong market position. But they make the easiest things too complicated. Damn, just add a few new events a week, give the people competition and something to drive. They wanted to implement LIVE features and daily content. It's embarassing.

Hi Jerome I am completely finished with GT7 and it's time to move on, and thank you for the fun times we had in GT6.
