been playing some Online racing recently, but encountered a disgusting sensation, when driving throught the Carousel, at usual offline speeds and approach,

the car seems to just fall asleep right in the middle of the bend, and spins a 270 degree. can anyone confirm why this is happening on this section, online only?

happens of course at higher speeds, but the effect is still there even at low safe speeds, where now I just drive on the outside of the carousel instead.

The rest of the track is nice and perfect, except for BOTH carousels.

the street is at this point really narrow... also when you drive in the carousel you hear a sound like you drive over the curbs

Online driving is more realistic? And apparently concrete (Right?) is slippery? I noticed this too. It's very annoying.

hmm, i tend not to bother driving in it when playing online. its just not worth the effort considering how it likes to spin so easily.

Online physics are different and more realistic, and as a general rule more slippery.

I tend to keep my speed around 52-58mph while feathering lightly on the throttle, but for me, it all depends on traffic and entry speeds.

Good thing this isn't NFS: Shift 1, where the inside portion of the carousel for me is undriveable. :grumpy:

I do not know if the slow speed spin is consistent, if it is, that's wierd, but the Carrousel is a special corner.

The concrete is more slippery then asfalt and maybe rideheight needs to be considered as the Carrousel is very, very bumpy, just like in real life.

Just my 2 cents.

I have the same feeling online, I am more conservative than offline on carousel, but the same for the rest of people so it shouldn't make any difference in the end I guess.

online physics are more realistic, camber to 2.3f 1.6r on an awd with a 30/70 split and a .14r toe and you can burn through the corner, same with an ff, but an mr or fr needs to take a high line dipping a tire into the carousel and drifting slightly. turn grip reduction to real instead of low. also whats with the hazzard section of road course indy, painted concrete is slick but on indy its ice?

That part on Indy is very annoying. That's off-topic.

Anyways.

What if you don't want to end up drifting? ;)

Did you drive offline in Arcade Race mode or if it's in GT Life it has to be in the one make race because those are the only ones that have the option to simulate tire temperature/wear. That is of you're comparing to racing online with tire wear ON. All other mode for offline whether they're Practice/Time Trial mode, A-spec or Seasonal race, full tire wear and realistic grip are not fully simulated.

I believe for A-spec and Seasonal race, the default tire grip are set to LOW instead of the more realistic REAL. I'm not sure about tire wear although I'm pretty sure that only in endurance race that tire wear makes a difference.

Another thing to consider is fuel consumption- I find when you have it ON either for Online races or even Offline Arcade/One Make races, you can feel the weight of the car changes (gradually and for obvious reason) from the onset of the race to the end.

All these factors might contribute how the car feels as you navigate through the Karrusell since it lurches the car sideway and off balances the weight of the car.
