Online vs Offline Racing?

I play offline with no driving aids (ASM,TCS,Skid Recovery, etc) and I can get some pretty amazing lap times. However, when I play online in rooms with the same settings my car's don't handle very well and my laptimes are usually pretty lousy. This is more noticable with high powered rear wheel drive race cars.

What gives? Is there less traction online?

tuning your cars online thats the only way
