Yeah, same as me. The japanese things UTE are cool and for style, but the Aussies would really know how to use them. 👍 This is a bad example of a UTE from Malaysia:

I'd have preferred if he didn't use an M5 though - just a regular 5 series then modded it to be equal or better.

I support the idea of building a BMW ute, just seems a shame to lose a mint M5 for the cause...

its certainly different, but i think it would have been smarter to start with a regular E39 wagon shell (they made an E39 540i touring) since all the stuff was already there, and just upgrade the motor as necessary.

its bordering on sacriligious to me that they butchered a perfectly fine M5 to do this. its thier money, but surely gutting and upgrading a lesser model would have been cheaper and easier?
