Two New York men who squared up for a streetfight over a parking spot are now being mocked online for their fighting style.

Video of the clash shows the pair jump out of their cars as they realise they are both vying for the same car spot.

Bemused bystanders watch as the men begin to shadow box, then wrestle against a car and throw wild punches at each other.

After about 30 seconds the men appear to call it a day and retreat back into their cars – leaving one of the men to snare the spot.

The video was filmed by pedestrian and former kickboxer Danil Ovechkin who uploaded it to YouTube earlier this week.

In the face of criticism for filming the incident, rather than intervening, Mr Ovechkin was quick to downplay the seriousness of the fight, pointing out the pair’s dubious street fighting skills.

“One guy landed only 2 punches. The rest is just wobbling of hands,” he wrote.

Other commentators agreed, adding that it looked more a sketch comedy than a genuine brawl.

“Is this even real? It looks like something out of a movie where two guys who can't fight do all sorts of maneuvers that make it even more evident that they can't fight LOL,” one post read.

Here's why that would never happen in the South:

 ^.

I can actually understand the guy in the front car, as that BMW-guy's really provoking, at last. I'm sure someone would smack him, if he did that, here. Danes are just maniacs when driving, so it's like when they enter a car, they go from "good guy" to "insanely mad guy".

I'll also remember "act like you got some sense", for a some time.

Better to be short of breath than short of temper. He ate the last person that road raged him, then ran over his car.

Compensating for something?

Might want to learn a thing or two about off roading before you bring up that nugget of stupidity on a car forum. That truck looks like it could see some good dirt.

No way ?!

What would he do, if he was up against this:

?

Or this?

I laughed for a while.
They were jabbing and swerving like a real boxing match, but neithe rone of them knew exactly what they were doing! brilliant!

If it is an off road vehicle it should not be on the steets.

That thing would be well over 4,500lb and may be heavier than some light trucks, yet it is still classed as a car.

And frankly I just hate seeing pick ups that large in the city.

Hmm..I've seen this before..

Oh yeah!

NERDS! NERDS! NERDS! NERDS!

Seriously though, this is just splendid. Beat the s:censored: out of somebody for stealing your parking space!

Fight for your parking spot like a MAN! It's America and we're so lazy that we're one of the only nations that even has time to fight over a parking space while a big crowd gathers round and laughs.

And by the way, them is some fightin' moves from a book! You can't learn to throw punches like that with a teacher or instructor! Oh no. All of those punches were learned from "Fighting moves for Dummies." Because that's just how we do things here.

And its cheaper.

If you and Grayfox think America is one of the only places people will fight over something as little as a parking spot, well, you guys need to think again.

Not what I think at all, it's just we sure do seem barbaric at times.

I am not sure what is so funny about their "technique". It appears they both used a boxing approach, not a "fighting" one that involves leading with one's chin in most cases. The point of boxing is to not get hit, whilst hitting the other guy, so the 'hands up, stay out of reach' style seems not out of place.

I see nothing wrong with how they fought. Mike is spot on.

Oh, because that is what you said.

Anyways, people can be barbaric and they're certainly not limited to certain regions of the world.

I said that America is one of the only places where that happens because.. Well, it's sorta true.

I can see it happening in other places for sure, but I can't see people standing around and filming it like they seem to do here. There's a reason why we're often stereotyped as dumb in this country.

Not sure if serious...

Guessing a bit low. An SVT Raptor weighs 3 tons, this will be much more.

And frankly I just hate seeing pick ups that large in the city.

So therefore we should bring up the 'ole compensation argument.

Speaking of parking stupidity, I was at a shopping center the other day, saw a car pull into a spot. The car next to that one backed out and left, and then the first car backed out and moved over the one spot closer to the door!

Hey, ten feet saved going in, ten feet saved coming out! That's significant!!!!!

Make up your mind.

There's a reason why we're often stereotyped as dumb in this country.

I don't know the reason for that stereotype, see above maybe?

Try, "Only in our disgusting, hateful, big cities."

Not even, people fighting happens just about everywhere.

You realize heavier vehicles are just considered family cars in the US, right? And that isn't a city at all.

You really, really need to develop some sense of global awareness if you think this kind of stuff is unique to the US. You are living up to the ignorant American stereotype at the moment though, so good job there.

And apparently, only in Australia will someone get their ear bit off for a parking space, by a priest.

And only in China can someone die from fighting over a parking space. By having their balls squeezed.

I know you don't care for America much, Grayfox, but please stop with the obnoxious thread titles.

EDIT: I spent another 30 seconds Googling and found this as well

1 dead and 6 injured in India over a parking space.

@Grayfox

You're telling me that the factory trucks of the '70s and '80s that weigh almost 7,000lbs stock shouldn't be on the street? 'Cause mine with 1 ton 33s and 6,600lb dry weight is too big when it's actually physically smaller than most trucks on the street today, just heavier.

There are station wagons that weigh 5,000lbs...
